Conversations with Jie Deng

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jie Deng

Hi Jie, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
At the beginning, I felt very lost in the field of art. Faced with this vast and unknown world, I didn’t know where to start, nor was I clear about what I truly wanted. The diversity and limitless possibilities of art left me feeling somewhat overwhelmed, as if I were standing at a crossroads, with each path seeming to lead in a different direction, yet not knowing which one was truly mine.

During this period of confusion, I tried many different things—painting, music, photography, writing. I kept experimenting, hoping to find the area that truly sparked my passion and fulfillment. Although these attempts sometimes led to frustration, they also gradually helped me understand where my true interests lay. Through these explorations, I began to realize that I was particularly drawn to certain forms of art, while others failed to inspire me. This realization gradually guided me towards a more defined direction.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
The journey has not been easy because I am a very sensitive person. When faced with difficulties, I often feel at a loss and unsure of how to handle the situation. This sensitivity also comes into play when communicating with clients, as I not only have to address project-related issues but also be mindful of their emotional state. At times, this sensitivity puts a lot of pressure on me, as I have to solve practical problems while ensuring smooth communication and avoiding unnecessary misunderstandings or conflicts. Although it can be exhausting, it has also taught me to observe and respond more carefully, continuously improving my communication skills.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am currently working in the media industry, and in my spare time, I also enjoy painting and writing stories. I love presenting things visually through different forms, as it not only brings me satisfaction but also allows me to express my thoughts and emotions in my own unique way.

If you had to, what characteristic of yours would you give the most credit to?
Perseverance and the ability to observe are crucial qualities. When facing challenges, perseverance allows me to keep moving forward, not giving up easily even when difficulties arise. This perseverance is not only about pursuing my goals but also about my dedication to personal growth. At the same time, learning to observe is another key skill. Through careful observation, I can better understand the environment around me, the needs of others, and changing trends. This observational ability helps me find effective solutions to complex problems and enables me to more accurately grasp the emotions and intentions of others during communication. Therefore, perseverance and observation are not only tools for overcoming difficulties but also essential paths to continuous self-improvement.
