Conversations with Jessica Hall

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jessica Hall.

Jessica Hall

Jessica, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I first started out in the entertainment business at the age of 19. I was casted as a host for MTV on a show called Burned. From there I found it wasn’t as easy to book hosting jobs as I thought. I had to really put myself out there and work harder than I ever thought I would have to. I went on hosting for E! Entertainment and TV Guide. I continued with hosting and even landed my own radio show on Sirius/XM for 7 years. Between my first hosting gig and now, I worked as a model, did some TV appearances, deal or no deal, and reality TV. From all the TV to modeling, I started to invest in some Business opportunities that came my way. I wanted to start settling down after I had my two kids. So, this was something I have always wanted to do. In November 2020, I graced the cover of LA Weekly for the Women in Business issue and was even named in Forbes as one of the most successful mom entrepreneurs. Today, I have a blog called sleeplessmom.com and a podcast called flashbacks on APM, and I am using my social media platforms to help build my brand. I want to support women and working moms. We are so resilient, and I believe we can do it all. We don’t need to just pick one title

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back, would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It has not been a smooth road at all. It was hard to be a small fish in a big pond. Not to mention how sometimes I felt so small in a casting room and the way I was made to feel. I never let it get to me as I had so much support from my boyfriend at the time, who is now my husband. I was also the one to always help connect and sometimes even put myself second when it came to booking jobs. But looking back, I’m so happy because that’s who I am today.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I’m most proud of the people who I have met in this business. It wasn’t always easy in the mid-2000s, but looking back, I feel like I experienced life and definitely lived in an era that people talked about before social media was really around.

I’m proud of the life I created with my husband and children

I’m proud that I kept my morals and values

I’m proud that my daughter knows she can overcome and do anything

I’m proud of the 20 years I maintained in this business and how many people I have connected along the way

I loved TV hosting and radio the most and hope to continue as I grow as a person and creator

The amount of traveling I was able to do and see so much. I’m forever grateful

Alright, so to wrap up, is there anything else you’d like to share with us?
If you can picture it and visual it then you can make it happen, don’t let anyone tell or make you feel different. It’s not always easy, but if it’s what you want, don’t let YOU stop you
