Today we’d like to introduce you to Jannah Wasiyyah.
Hi Jannah, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
Immersing myself in my natural abilities and fun for life has led me to feel empowered as an entrepreneur and free-lance model. Before content creation was a popular career, I’ve always wanted to orchestrate montages of moments of my life; as a young girl I knew I wanted to have fun doing what I love. No specific title and no rigid schedules! Showcasing everything had to grow on me as I do believe that not everyone wants to see your growth or happiness, but I remedied that fear quickly with the support of so many. Growing up in a city of go-getters and creatives allowed me to step into my light. Philadelphia is home for so much talent; Im proud to be a part. I don’t just model a local brand or make a compelling video without the intent to inspire others to do what they love and love what they do! That has been my motto since 18. Things are just getting more structured along my entrepreneurial path at 26yrs old. Modeling, content creating, running a nanny agency, offering loctician services, and managing brand campaigns all while mothering my son has taken me from fearful to fearless! I am at the point in my life where showing up is the job itself and I define my own definition of success.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
No journey worth taking comes without it’s challenges. I ventured through insecurity issues, failed business relationships, and the birth of my son, Na’sooh. Ive come out knowing that consistency prevails on the days that confidence isnt at 100%. Showing up in my rightful capacity, nothing more and nothing less, has kept 90% of the challenges at bay. For instance, modeling my 1st show in LA in 2023 seemed so easy on the outside, but internally, I was afraid to be seen. The only model dressed modestly, with a petite body structure and a beginner’s walk; wheeeeew! I thought I’d make a fool out of myself. I actually unlocked a new level of assertiveness that allowed me to take up spaces even if I was unsure of the criticism. Moments as such keeps me grounded in living what I love!
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I am an intermediate content creator, brand ambassador, CEO and hairstylist. I love being in the creative category the most because I am not locked in on 1 title. In 2023, I have worked with 5 modest clothing brands and converted content to cash. Committing myself to vlogging some of life’s moments not only to be a testimonial of doing what I love and loving what I do, but it also allows me to dive into my creativity. Watching ideas come to life is why I hold so dearly to entrepreneurship. I am known for juggling many hustles and businesses, but I am most proud of finally graduating from being a traveling nanny to creating a profitable network of nannies countrywide. Providing a solution to a problem is what takes a hustler to CEO. I am no longer working for paper, but working for purpose. Money flows naturally to me, but being able to share resources with others is overwhelmingly fulfilling.
How do you think about happiness?
Living life on my own terms is what makes me happy. I choose to either be buried in life’s many challenges or choose to smile and create. Create a better outlook on life, create memories with my family without employee guilt, create solutions for more than just myself, and of course create content to inspire. Im dedicated to embodying the beauty in life whether that exudes from impromptu photoshoots or in my work ethic, building financial security.
