Conversations with Holly Eaton

Today we’d like to introduce you to Holly Eaton

Holly, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
My journey has been anything but conventional, but it’s one I wouldn’t trade for anything. I was a stay-at-home mom for 18 years—a role I absolutely loved and cherished. My days were filled with raising my kids, creating meals, decorating, and embracing all the little moments that make a house a home. But in 2020, my world shifted when I went through a tough divorce. Suddenly, I had to rethink everything.

The thought of starting over was terrifying. I didn’t know where to begin, but my sister encouraged me to lean into what I loved—cooking, homemaking, and connecting with people. That’s how my Instagram account and blog began. What started as a tiny seed of an idea has grown into something so meaningful to me.

It wasn’t easy. I had no clue how to build a business, navigate social media, or connect with an audience. I was scared out of my mind, but I decided to take it one step at a time. I poured myself into learning and trying new things, and along the way, I discovered a side of myself I didn’t know existed—resilient, passionate, and creative.

Today, I feel so grateful. I’ve built a beautiful community of people who share my love for food, family, and home. Every post, recipe, or story I share comes straight from my heart, and I’m constantly inspired by the connections I’ve made. My hope is to continue creating spaces—both online and at the table—where people feel loved, supported, and inspired to make meaningful moments in their own lives.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Not at all—it’s been full of twists, turns, and a few potholes along the way. Starting over after my divorce was one of the hardest things I’ve ever faced. I was stepping into uncharted territory, trying to figure out how to build a career from scratch while still being a present mom to my three kids. It was overwhelming, to say the least.

I had no experience running a business or creating content, so there was a steep learning curve. I spent countless late nights researching, experimenting, and often second-guessing myself. Imposter syndrome was a big hurdle, too—there were so many moments when I wondered, ‘Am I really cut out for this?’

On top of that, balancing everything was tough. Building a business while navigating single parenthood came with its own set of challenges. I’ve had to learn how to prioritize, set boundaries, and give myself grace when things didn’t go perfectly.

But looking back, those struggles shaped me. They taught me resilience, creativity, and the power of showing up even when it’s hard. Every obstacle has made the successes feel that much sweeter, and I’m proud of the journey—bumps and all. It’s been anything but smooth, but it’s been absolutely worth it.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I’m a lifestyle and food content creator and recipe developer, but at the heart of what I do, I like to think of myself as a storyteller who uses food and home as my canvas. My work is all about inspiring people to create meaningful moments, whether it’s a cozy family dinner, a Sunday morning tradition, or a beautifully set table that makes loved ones feel special.

I specialize in creating recipes that feel approachable yet elevated—dishes that bring people together. From comforting one-pot meals to crowd-pleasing appetizers and desserts that spark joy, I focus on the kind of food that feels like home. What sets my work apart is the heart behind it. Every recipe and piece of content I share comes from a place of love, connection, and my personal experience of finding joy in the everyday.

I’m most proud of the community I’ve built. Knowing that my recipes and ideas have become part of someone else’s family traditions or brought a little light to their day means everything to me.

What sets me apart is the authenticity I bring to my work. My audience knows that I’m not about perfection—I’m about showing up, being real, and celebrating the beauty in the messy, magical moments of life. My hope is that when people visit my space, they feel like they’re pulling up a chair in my kitchen, sharing a laugh, and leaving inspired to create something meaningful in their own homes.

We’d love to hear about how you think about risk taking?
For most of my life, I didn’t think of myself as a risk-taker. I liked to play it safe, stick to what I knew, and avoid stepping too far outside of my comfort zone. But life has a way of pushing you into the unknown, whether you’re ready or not.

When I decided to start over after my divorce, it felt like one giant leap into uncertainty. Starting my blog and Instagram wasn’t just a risk; it was a complete departure from everything I’d ever known. I was putting myself out there, sharing my life, my passions, and my struggles with the world—something that felt incredibly vulnerable.

I think the biggest risk wasn’t the act of starting a new career but believing in myself enough to try. There were so many moments of doubt and fear of failure. What if I didn’t succeed? What if people didn’t connect with my work? But I learned that taking risks isn’t about eliminating fear; it’s about feeling the fear and moving forward anyway.

Now, I see risk differently. I view it as an opportunity to grow, to learn, and to discover what’s possible. It’s not about the guarantee of success but the courage to try. Some risks pay off, and some don’t, but every single one has taught me something valuable.

For me, the greatest risk was betting on myself—and it’s a risk I’ll never regret taking.
