Conversations with Heath Martin

Today we’d like to introduce you to Heath Martin.

Heath Martin

Hi Heath, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today.
Coming from the world of R&B music seems like a lifetime ago at this point. I found voice acting by happenstance, and I’m grateful that I did.

I found my champions early and often in my mentors, colleagues, and friends.

From VO Buzz Weekly and Chuck Duran to Steve Blum and Blumvox Studios, Jess Harnell, Bob Bergen, Joe Cipriano, Vanessa Marshall, Andrew Kishino, Rob Paulsen, and so many others. Establishing personal relationships has been a major part of my success. After establishing the relationships (and during), I trained like a madman! I believe in “always be learning” and that I’m always going to be a “work in progress.”

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
This endeavor has not been without its ups and downs; nothing worth pursuing ever is! Having thick skin and understanding the ebbs and flows of the biz are a must! I’m a firm believer in being a multi-genre actor, i.e., commercial, video game, animation, promo, movie trailer, narration, ADR, dubbing, and more. When one genre is slow, another picks up, it was a great idea to be well versed in all.

Thanks – so, what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I’m a voice actor. I’ve been in National Burger King campaigns “It’s not the same without the Flame” Video Games like Watcher of Realms, Jagged Alliance 3, Dead Cide Club, Shadow Fight Arena, World of Warships, Killer Gin, and Killer Gin Battle Arcade.

Another highlight was working with Marvel and Disney + on ads for Secret Invasion and Wingstop.

For me, the best is yet to come.

How do you define success?
Being able to take care of my family while touching others’ lives is my idea of success.
