Conversations with Hannah Roeloffs

Today we’d like to introduce you to Hannah Roeloffs.

Hannah, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
Ever since I was young, I was always interested in fashion. Being from the midwest, there were not a lot of opportunities to grow in the industry, but I took as many as I could including modeling, volunteering at local fashion weeks, starting a fashion club at my school, and working in local boutiques, to name a few!

I moved to Los Angeles, CA when I was 18 to go to the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising where I studied Visual Communications. I took every job, internship, and volunteer opportunity that could help me grow as an entrepreneur and network with other like-minded people! With that, I got experience in visual merchandising, public relations, styling, social media with some of the largest brands including Nordstrom Hautelook, Golden Goose Deluxe Brand, Lucky Brand, Adidas, and meeting some of the largest influencers at the time like James Charles, Nikita Dragun, Patrick Starr, and more! In school is when I also met my best friend and now business partner, Matthew Alexander!

My career almost unfolded itself from there. I got my first full-time job directly out of college working at an influencer marketing agency where we were running campaigns with brands such as Bumble, Victoria’s Secret, Olay and working with influencers like David Dobrik, Erika Costell, and more!

I took a hiatus and was the Creative Director of the YouTube channel the Funk Bros. I helped grow their channel +1 million and their TikTok to 1.5 million in a year.

Throughout all this time, I always knew I could run my own company. I grew up around a lot of entrepreneurs in my family and knew this was something I wanted to do one day. To test the waters, I launched my own clothing brand in 2020 called Illie Society.

My friend Matthew, who has a background in public relations and celebrity styling for Camilla Cabello, Jennifer Lopez, and Ariana Grande to name a few, and I were talking about our personal work drama one when we came up with the amazing idea that if we partnered and brought each of our skills, knowledge, and experience together that we could really come up with something amazing! That is when we started working on our current project, Visualize Creative Agency. A full-service PR agency that encompasses all things creative and marketing including event planning, influencer marketing, public relations, talent, and more!

We are so excited about this journey and for what is to come!

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It has not always been a smooth road. I have had to do a lot of dirty work and take jobs that are not-so-glamourous to get me to where I am today. But that is all part of the journey and prepares you for the unknown ahead!

Some of the biggest challenges has been recognizing when you are not happy with your current situation and actually taking action to make change even when you have no backup planned!

Some of my biggest personal growth, emotionally and career-wise, has been when I decided to make a change in my life with no backup solution. This gets you out of your comfort zone and really pushes you to make ends meet!

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I am the co-founder of Visualize Creative Agency alongside my partner, Matthew Alexander. We work with brands to develop their presence and branding through Influencer Marketing (running the campaigns start to finish), Event Planning (Brand trips, influencer campaigns, product launches, etc), Public Relations (PR boxes, gifting suites, celebrity seeding, etc.), Talent Management (manage digital talent brand deals and career choices).

What sets us apart from others is the extreme attention to detail. There will be no detail going unnoticed in any project, big or small, that we are involved in.

How do you define success?
Success is extremely individual to each person, but I believe that it is important for you to set micro goals that flood into your bigger, longer-term goals! This way, you are able to achieve and recognize success along the journey of accomplishing your bigger goals!
