Today we’d like to introduce you to Gulnare Ozdemir.

Gulnare Ozdemir

Hi Gulnare, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I was born in Baku, Azerbaijan and spent most of my life in İzmir, Turkey. I got my first job at a music school in İzmir, Turkey. I worked there for 26 years, then immigrated to the USA.

I worked so hard to achieve my goals.

I always encouraged myself to keep my positivity. My desire to achieve my goals and my encouragement of keeping my positivity brought me to the position where I am today. I am living in Boston, MA and working as a piano teacher at a studio, and doing accompaniment at the same time.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Like all people, I had challenges in my life. My childhood was the time that USSR (Soviet Union) was collapsing. There were a war. I had my first immigration when I was young to İzmir, Turkey. I had to deal with troubles in my first years of immigration, but I kept my ideals and positive attitude to guide myself out of these troubles.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I am a piano teacher and a piano accompanist. I specialize at teaching to young souls. I am known for my disciplined and kind piano teaching. I am proud of my advanced teaching and playing skills. While I am teaching, I kept my concert pianist self and created a huge variety of repertoire.

We’d be interested to hear your thoughts on luck and what role, if any, you feel it’s played for you?
I had good luck with the teachers I had and the places I have worked at. I always did the thing that made me happy. Life gave me a great opportunity to achieve my goals, and I accepted it.
