Conversations with Gregory Banks

Today we’d like to introduce you to Gregory Banks.

Hi Gregory, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I grew up in New Orleans Louisiana, a city full up music and flavor! I knew I wanted to be a musician as early as five years old because I was to able to understand the positive impact that music could have if. My earliest introduction to music was through the choir, I later got into the Marching Band, and that where my affinity began! As an early teen I experienced Hurricane Katrina and all of the catastrophes associated with it. That moment really shaped my life and pushed me to laser focus and an unwavering ambition!

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
This journey has been full of obstacles, it almost appears as if they were placed strategically to test my perseverance! From growing up with eight siblings in a 3-bedroom housing project, to Hurricane Katrina to becoming a teenage father! Moving to NYC was another level of struggle and obstacles, its unforgiving nature leaves no question that you’re made to do what you came to do if you don’t give up!!

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
Singer/Songwriter/Musician/Model I’m most proud of my ability to teach myself guitar during the pandemic! What sets me apart is my unique fashion and blend of genres!

Do you have any memories from childhood that you can share with us?
My favorite childhood memory was going to Mardi Gras parades with my siblings. We’d come home and throw all the beads on the tree in our backyard!
