Hi Glenn, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
During my early years, I faced a significant challenge: my parents’ divorce when I was four. Growing up in the heart of Los Angeles, amidst some of the city’s most notorious gangs, attending underperforming public schools, I struggled with a severe stuttering issue that hindered my engagement in basic educational activities throughout my formative years. However, despite these obstacles, I discovered a genuine passion for film and television production. This passion not only served as a means of expressing my thirst for knowledge but also became a vehicle for effectively communicating my ideas to others. Through unwavering determination and a natural inclination for storytelling, I eventually overcame my speech impediment, achieving a remarkable recovery.
Ostrich Farm Studio embodies who I am. My passion for understanding the intricacies of human interaction with their surroundings is reflected in my love for psychology, seamlessly integrated into the studio’s aesthetic. A lifelong interest in interior design and architecture has led to the creation of a space that harmoniously blends the natural and built environments. The result is an atmosphere that fosters creativity and facilitates the production of engaging and informative content.

We all face challenges, but looking back, would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Creating a studio space from scratch hasn’t been easy. In 2014, the year the studio was born, I found myself juggling the responsibilities of caring for three children—two in grade school and a newborn—while also attending to an elderly parent who required dialysis three times a week. The daily challenges inherent in starting a new business often felt overwhelming. However, I came to realize that the key to success lies within oneself. When I was emotionally grounded, the positive impact of my efforts in building a successful business became clear.

As the owner, I oversee the dynamic operations of a thriving production environment. We are privileged to serve a prestigious clientele, including renowned names such as BBC, PBS NOVA, A&E, Merck, Vice, Verizon, and Tilly’s. Our services span from managing a production soundstage and editing suite rental facility, primarily catering to independent projects and major networks for insert shots. My expertise lies in conducting captivating talking head interviews for documentaries, films, and various TV programs. With a wealth of experience as a seasoned camera operator and sound recordist, I am committed to delivering high production value and meticulous attention to detail, particularly in sound quality.
Proficient in all aspects of video production and post-production, including specialized knowledge in lighting for green screen cycloramas, I am dedicated to surpassing client expectations by consistently delivering top-quality work. I’ve held various production roles in films and live news programs throughout my career, earning recognition and accolades at prestigious film festivals and award ceremonies, including multiple Emmy Awards.
We’re always looking for the lessons that can be learned in any situation, including tragic ones like the Covid-19 crisis. Are there any lessons you’ve learned that you can share?
In times of crisis, I rely on my intuitive knowing to make sound decisions, while also showing patience towards others and maintaining the endurance needed to persevere.
