Conversations with G Wayne

Today we’d like to introduce you to G Wayne.

Hi G, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
My government name is Gerald Herring. I got started in 2015 by just messing around creating 15 seconds of funny content. One video went viral and the rest I guess you can say is history.

At the time, I was working for Microsoft and was a single father with three kids. At the time, I would travel from the I.E. AKA Inland Empire. Back n forth to LA on the weekends. To not only produce content but allow others in my Aunt’s home to produce as well. Long story short, I ended up getting laid off in 2018 and never looked back.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
The grind is never smooth. Y0u tend to doubt yourself sometimes because you didn’t get the views you expected. Other struggles included finding a place to shoot, a legit cameraman and people to shoot with that believe in you.

Someone always have something negative to say, you have to understand everyone is not going to like comedy.

I had my own family looking down on me and telling me I’m too old and just need to do a 9-5.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I’m a social media influencer/Actor. I actually started my acting career as a kid at the age of 12. I was seen on Fresh Prince of Bel Air, A different World and ER just to name a few. I’m known for creating funny, hood and realistic content seen on Youtube, FaceBook, Instagram, BlackOaktv network, Bigo, TikTok and Patreon.

I don’t know what makes me different from the rest. I just be the best i can be as being myself. I don’t focus on others or put myself in competition with others. Everyone is different just how God made us.

Lookup My La Hood Stories, Lesbian Homie (BIGGJAH) and First Date Investments on Youtube. I play two different types of characters.

Let’s talk about our city – what do you love? What do you not love?
We have some of the most talented people around with the best weather and scenery. We’re overpopulated, I hate the traffic, lol.
