Conversations with Fr3deR1cK Taylor

Today we’d like to introduce you to Fr3deR1cK Taylor.

Hi Fr3deR1cK, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
My story is one of triumph. I am a Southside of Chicago kid who was educated in film and television at Temple University in Philadelphia.

I took advantage of the rise of the ATL music scene and the new media universe of LA.

Globalism is everything to me and the hearts and minds of everyone is my muse.

I love stories that include all people.

I am an agent for change.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
My struggles have been complex. I am a person of African descent and that has made operating in a leadership position challenging.

My interest is in the modern person of color. In America that can be a challenge. Hollywood in its present state has great commercial interest in the suffering person of color narrative.

Executives want to finance stories of the past and struggles long since overcome.

I discuss subject matter of today and tomorrow.

I believe in the future. I honor the past but shed light on the hopes and dreams of all people.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I am a filmmaker that specializes in social justice.

Civil rights is my vision. Equality and justice for all.

Life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness is everything to me.

I am known for stories that highlight and include all people.

People of the world is my specialty and industry currency.

I take great pride in bringing joy and hope to people who need and deserve a voice in this world.

What sets me apart is my singular ability to create stories on my own. I can get it done.

I want you but I don’t need you. I love, love! I love filmmaking.

I write, shoot, direct and edit. I do not need to wait on the world in order to contribute to it.

I want people to know I have won an Emmy for PBS for a series called, “If Cities Could Dance.” JSetting Atlanta
I have an award winning period social justice documentary that was screened at the Cannes Film festival,  called Counter Histories: Rock Hill. Peaceful protest is the only way.
I have an avant-garde award winning film called, Pre- Existing Freedom that focuses on the crushing reality of 2020.
Additionally an award winning Web Series called, Trumps Children. Young people have been very effected over the past five years. Adults are responsible for the development of youth.
And an award winning documentary focusing on the current state of America called, “Where is America the beautiful.”

What does success mean to you?
Success is knowing you have impacted another human being’s life in a positive way.

Success is knowing you have given your all to the causes you believe in.

Success is never say die and quitting is not an option.

Look fear in the face and challenging it is the true meaning of success.

Success is trusting your instincts and you’ll never be wrong.
