Today we’d like to introduce you to Fabian Arnold.
Hi Fabian, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I was born in a little town near Cologne in Germany on July 16th, 1996. My dad is working in insurance and my mom is working in finance. I have three years younger brothers called Felix that was always super close to me. After having not many friends in Highschool and feeling bullied from other kids, I decided to change from being a skinny nerdy kid and started going to the gym with 16.
When I was 18 years old, I got scouted by a photographer at a fitness fair and started modeling just for fun. 1,5 years later in 2016, I started posting model pictures on my Instagram and account got more and more popular. During my last year in college in 2017, my Instagram took off and I grew on more than 100k followers, which was a lot back then.
After studying insurance management and graduating as one of the best in Germany, I decided to go to Australia for Backpacking to explore the world and learn more about life and also the English language. In Australia Sydney, I got signed by a model management and started working as a fashion model. After 1 year in Australia in 2019 I lived in Singapore, LA, Milan and London for modeling. I applied for my O1 Talent Visa for the States and then Covid happened. I took a break from modeling over covid and focused on my Social Media (IG and Tiktok), found a production company (FXA Media GmbH) and started planning a fashion brand, which launched three years in 2023 (NEREUS DESIGN).
After the second year of covid, I got approved for the O1 Visa and moved to Los Angeles to continue my journey of self-discovery and growth.
In 2022, I transformed more into Acting and studied in a couple of the most prestigious acting schools in Hollywood (Margie Haber Studios, Groundlings, Graham Shiels Acting Studios).
Now being signed as a male model around the world, working in film and television, having almost 3 Mio Followers across the Social Media Platforms, having my own production company and fashion company, I am happy what the future has to offer.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It all started in High-School when other kids made fun of me because I was sitting in the first row and trying to get good grades. I learned to focus on your goals and don’t let anyone bring you down. Doing stuff no one else is doing is always hard as other kids/people are starting to be jealous or just weird in general. Even if it was starting modeling with 18 or moving to Los Angeles, there are always people making fun of you.
Working in social media and modeling can be really tough as there are a lot of ups and downs… Your head is so attached to the likes and comments you get on IG… As soon as the likes or followers ate getting less your fall into downs.
Working as an artist, you just need a strong mental health and to take breaks sometimes.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
Starting as a fashion model when I was younger I was working for brands like Hollister or Abercrombie and Fitch, Levis, MCM, Dior, Versace or Dolce and Gabbana. Shooting editorials for L’official, Desnudo Homme, Yearbook Fancine, Augustman Magazine, HUF Magazine or Lewis Magazine.
Working on Social Media, I was working on campaigns with Prada, Dior, BMW, Tom Ford, Valentino, Ralph Lauren, and Netflix among many others.
In modeling, I filmed my first movie in September 2022 (Boomslang 3) with John Waters which won a lot of film festivals around the globe.
Now getting ready for my first lead role in a feature film production in August 2023 in Florida.
My fashion brand NEREUS DESIGN launched in Mai 2023.
What’s next?
As I basically just arrived in the US I am still thrilled to be here and will continue working on building the empire.
