Conversations with Era

Today we’d like to introduce you to Era.

Era

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I’ve been writing songs for as long as I remember. Music, or actually pop music, to be exact, got me through a lot of difficult shit in my childhood. I felt so alone, and music was my escape and it connected me to a whole world of people who also feel different. So, I always knew when I grew up that I want to be that for others and live my life as an artist.

I moved to LA two years ago, and it’s been an insane journey. I really had to confront a lot of my demons that I thought I would escape by leaving my home country and moving here. I started releasing music last year, and I’m excited to share more.

My next single, It’s Gonna Be Okay, is coming out on March 8th, and it’s my most personal one to date. I’m finally ready to tell my story.

We all face challenges, but looking back, would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
I went through a long journey of self-discovery and healing a lot of trauma and pain. I’m still in it, and it’s a daily struggle of ups and downs.

Thanks – so, what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I’m a singer, songwriter, and pop star. I make pop music for anyone who feels like a weirdo. I also come from a fine arts background, and I did a lot of performance and video art pieces in the past. I really like to push the boundaries of art and performance. I like to take my live shows to the next level; I had a show where I was suffocated with a plastic bag on stage.
