Today we’d like to introduce you to Emily Aragon.
Hi Emily, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I’ve always been deeply devoted when it comes to skincare routines. My journey started at a young age—I was born with eczema and I think that’s where my fascination with skin really began. Later in life, during my early 20s, I got off birth control, after being on it since I was 16. That’s when I developed intense adult acne. I’d clear it up, only for it to come back again and again. It was incredibly frustrating and it deepened my curiosity and passion for truly understanding the skin.
At the time, I was working as a RVT (Registered Veterinary Technician) in an animal hospital, primarily assisting in surgeries. While I loved caring for animals, I found myself constantly thinking about my skin—what products I was using, how my body was reacting and how I could finally heal it. My skin has always been sensitive, but now it had also become acne-prone, which added a whole new level of complexity. That’s when I started my personal Instagram page called MySkinMyFace, this was purely a creative outlet to document what I was using and learning.
During COVID, I finally decided to take the leap. I applied to esthetician schools and the one I really wanted to attend accepted me. Once I started school, I dove in headfirst. I began giving facials and to my surprise, people started requesting them regularly. That little Instagram page I started just for fun slowly grew into a real business. What started as a personal skin struggle turned into my purpose—and that’s how my journey as an esthetician began.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road. One of my biggest struggles was learning how to be a business owner. I never imagined in a million years that I’d run my own business, so I had to figure everything out from scratch—business licenses, DBAs, taxes, sales tax and so much more. I learned a lot along the way and every mistake I made taught me something valuable and I’m so grateful for each one. They’ve all helped me grow and become better, not just as a business owner, but as a person.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
MySkinMyFace was created with the intention of being a safe space—somewhere people feel completely comfortable and confident knowing exactly what’s physically going on their skin. Personally, I always disliked going to get a facial and not understanding the ingredients being used, or why something is being done, especially with sensitive skin. I wanted to change that experience for others and have a place where people can go and be excited to go and most importantly see a difference in their skin.
I specialize in working with complicated, compromised skin—whether it’s acne, eczema, rosacea, or other conditions where the skin barrier is impaired. A lot of people shy away from this type of skin, but it’s what I personally understand best —because I’ve been in their shoes. That’s why I feel so connected to my clients
What really sets MySkinMyFace apart is my holistic approach. I don’t just look at the surface; I go deeper to explore the root cause. Acne, for example, might be triggered by liver congestion, gut imbalances, stress, or hormonal shifts like PCOS or high cortisol. Sometimes it’s even small things like unclean pillowcases or makeup brushes. I look at the full picture: skincare, diet, stress, lifestyle, mindset, and internal health. Skin healing isn’t just topical—it’s mind, body and skincare .
Another unique part of my practice is my emphasis on lymphatic health. I was trained in a specialized lymphatic facial massage technique right after esthetician school by a mentor with 40 years of experience. I’ve also completed training in opening the lymphatic system, buccal massage and holistic facial sculpting. These modalities support detoxification, reduce inflammation and improve circulation—all of which are essential for radiant skin.
What I’m most proud of is the energy and intention I bring into every service. I treat every client like I would want to be treated. I pour my heart and soul into every facial. I pray over my clients, I connect with them, and I truly care about their healing—inside and out.
So maybe we end on discussing what matters most to you and why?
What matters most to me is that every client feels comfortable, seen, and excited to come to their appointment. But beyond that, my biggest priority is making sure they’re seeing real, positive changes in their skin. There’s nothing more fulfilling than watching someone’s confidence grow as their skin transforms—it’s why I do what I do.
