My name is Diana Campos, and I am a Los Angeles-based Makeup Artist and Hair Stylist with a lifelong passion for the beauty industry. My journey began at age eight, assisting my mother at her spa with tasks like shampooing hair and cleaning tools. Growing up in a salon environment, I naturally learned the crafts of makeup and hair, as my mother often brought me to work. This unique upbringing allowed me to understand all aspects of owning a beauty business, from the artistic to the operational.
I truly enjoyed every day of work, and my junior high and high school friends became my first clients, which built my experience and confidence to take on new ones. Witnessing the positive impact I could have by helping people feel better about themselves motivated me to pursue further goals in the industry. Years later, I moved to Los Angeles to advance my career, attended cosmetology school, and enrolled in makeup and hair master classes. My early beginnings started working on film, then expanded my career to working with private clients, on advertising shoots, red carpet events, and guest appearances.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It is a very competitive industry, as an artist, I need to constantly be learning the latest trends and updating my kit with the best products.
