Conversations with Destiny Vilchis Sanchez

Today we’d like to introduce you to Destiny Vilchis Sanchez

Hi Destiny, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
Growing up in the vibrant city of Los Angeles, art found me early—and I fell hard. No matter the medium, I was hooked. But at 14, graphic design became my true creative love. That same year, I launched my own clothing line, a move that not only shaped my artistic identity but also set me on a path as an independent artist. Since then, I’ve been creating, evolving, and freelancing with various companies, always pushing the boundaries of my style and vision

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
In the beginning, the biggest challenge was finding my style—figuring out what truly felt like me. Working on different projects as a profession & creating my own art over the years helped me sharpen my craft. I drew inspiration from graffiti artists and graphic designers, letting their work guide me as I carved out my own artistic identity. Looking back now, I wouldn’t change a thing. The journey was everything—it’s what got me to where I am today..

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
Graphic design is my main playground, but my creativity doesn’t stop there. From logos, apparel, print and package design the list of what I create goes on and on. But beyond that, I have a deep passion for photography and sketching. I’m always looking for ways to blend different mediums, bringing little bits of everything into my work. That’s where I thrive pushing versatility to create bold, exciting, and unique designs.

What do you like best about our city? What do you like least?
What I love most about Los Angeles is its nonstop creative energy it’s a melting pot of artists, designers, and visionaries. No matter where you go, inspiration is right around the corner. With so many creatives in one city, the possibilities are endless. The constant networking, collaborations, and shared ideas make being an artist here exciting. There’s always something new to learn, someone new to create with, and fresh opportunities waiting to be explored.
