Today we’d like to introduce you to DeQwan Thompson.
Hi DeQwan, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
Sure I was always told by my friends in school to plot to basically do YouTube so eventually from doing Snapchat I’m in college. This turned into something that I kind of just enjoyed doing. Talking on Camera pretty much just talking about things I’m interested in sharing my personality. Its been very beneficial for my overall mental health also because I’m pretty much a private person, and I know a lot of people on the planet can relate to that, so I just started to take it upon myself during the pandemic to start sharing on my experiences. I’m basically in isolation, self, isolation, essentially, and from that I was sharing more about my sneakers that I’m interested in and then I started sharing more about fitness so now I’m pretty much doing a Fitness reels on a consistent basis on YouTube as well as the sneaker videos. I do plan to start doing longer form fitness content once I change gyms. There are already in the fitness industry.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
Overall I see the road has been fairly bumpy but right now is kind of the most fun that I’m having and all honesty. Where I’m just in growth mode starting from the bottom of seeing massive growth this entire year so I’m going to continue to post that I continue to reach out and look for content look for inspiration. I just continue to build this muscle that I have now grown due to the impact of becoming a creator.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I am currently an issue management specialist training to become a project manager. I’m most known for my fitness. I’m also most proud of my fitness and my consistency. Actually, the consistency is what I’m most proud of. What sets me apart from others is I focus on my lane and compete against myself.
We’d love to hear about how you think about risk taking?
Risks are essential in life you won’t be able to get anywhere without taking risks, especially to the place and levels that you want to reach so in terms of rest for myself, I would say putting yourself out there on the Internet is always a risk and often times people crumble.
Another risk moving to Los Angeles with no plan initially.
Taking unpaid internships, living alone. Life’s about taking risks and I need to take a whole lot more. That’s the only way to find your true self.
