Hi Del Amo, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I started doing standup comedy in Los Angeles in the middle of 2022, I was posting content in to market my standup/comedy skill. I had a post go viral on TikTok (almost 5M views) in 2023 and have been posting content ever since!
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Definitely not, I think that being a creative is a game of psychology. Nothing is consistent: views, income, any of it…and that takes a toll on you mentally. So the journey has been far from smooth but very rewarding and I am grateful people enjoy my work!
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
As a standup and content creator I specialize in observational humor. I like to make the ordinary, absurd. I am most proud of my standup routine and niche social media following I have built. I think what sets me apart is my abstract view on seemingly normal topics like Panera Bread.
Any advice for finding a mentor or networking in general?
In comedy I think you find networks by just being available. Go to open mics to practice your craft but also go to shows to support people you truly find funny and inspiring and the connections will make themselves.
