Today we’d like to introduce you to Dani Rey.
Hi Dani, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I’ve written a lot of songs when I was little that will never see the light of day. However, it wasn’t until my mom passed away in 2019 that I began recording my music in the studio. God will place people in your life that will push you in the direction of your purpose. For me, that person was my music producer/engineer, Marv. It was his belief in me that encouraged me to start putting my music out into the world. I have two singles released on Spotify, Tidal, and Apple Music and I am currently working on my first album.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Over the past couple years, I’ve had to learn how to live with grief which has been challenging. Grief always hits you when you least expect it but no matter how much you are hurting, life moves on whether you participate in it or not. I do my best every day and that’s all you really can do. I’m definitely grateful to be able to lean on my fiancé for love and support.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I have been focused on acting and music as I prepare to get back on set very soon as well as putting a lot of time and energy into creating my album. I’m enjoying the process and learning a lot about myself along the way.
What does success mean to you?
Success to me is being happy and fulfilled within yourself. Material things come and go but inner peace and self-love will sustain you through anything. Also, I define success as taking those small steps every day to reach your goals. If you give up, you’ll never arrive at your desired destination. However, if you persevere you will eventually get there. Success is putting yourself first and pouring love into the people around you.
