Today we’d like to introduce you to Dana Bronson.
Hi Dana, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I am a 2nd generation musician who has been performing in the Los Angeles area for many years. I grew up in a musical home, and from my teens till now, I have performed in thousands of venues all over the world. My first professional music job was in the house band at the Las Vegas Hilton back in the 70s. I came to southern California in the late ’80s and have performed with/for many famous artists such as: Frank Sinatra, Sting, Luciano Pavarotti, Whitney Houston, Lionel Ritchie, Paul McCartney, Liam Neeson, Morgan Freeman, Al Pacino, Rod Stewart, Jamie Fox and countless others. I also have a premier music contracting firm that has been servicing the upper echelon of the entertainment business for over 3 decades. We work with over 1500 acts and have a huge celebrity client base. I am currently recording a solo album with the Nashville Recording Orchestra that is being produced by the Grammy-winning producer Michael Omartian.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Los Angeles is a city like no other. When I first arrived, they didn’t exactly roll out the “welcome wagon” but through perseverance and support from clients, friends, and community, I have had a long, blessed career and musical experience that continues till this day.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
The thing that has set me apart from some of the most talented musicians and performers I have encountered along my career path has been my “musical” upbringing and love of all kinds of music that was instilled in me by my father at an early age. He was an exemplary musician, performer and educator, and exposed me to a huge musical palette that allowed me to excel in many different musical situations. I am very proud of all the amazing singers, musicians, composers, producers, etc. that I have had the incredible luck of working with and learning from in my musical journey.
What’s next?
My father once said to me when I embarked on a musical career to be careful because, once you start, “It is a life sentence”. I see no end in site, I still learn things about the art form every day of my life, and still have the same childlike enthusiasm that I did when I first ventured out into the world of music.
