Today we’d like to introduce you to Damian Hawkins

Hi Damian, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
Damian Rashad Hawkins, better known within the entertainment industry as “D.Hawkins”. A Tyler, TX native, grew up in a small town where gospel and theater/stage play music shaped his early musical influences.

With a strong guiding hand from his late Grandmother, a seamstress and school teacher. Along with his Mother, a classically trained pianist, Damian was inspired from a young age to pursue music and fashion.

As a child, he discovered his natural talent for writing stories, poems, and lyrics, which seamlessly led to his career in singing and rapping. Now known as “D.Hawkins,” he has established himself as a rising star in both music and production/film design.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Like any other aspiring creative, D.Hawkins has faced numerous challenges over the years. However, his achievements have far outweighed any concerns. He has consistently stayed humble and thankful throughout his personal journey. Continuing to inspire many along the way!

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Damian is building a multifaceted empire as a Music Artist, Actor, Production Designer, and Personal Chef. He’s also the newest member of the LA Fashion Closet (LAFW) family. Stepping in as their new Public Relations Manager.

His acting and creative talents have been featured in a range of Feature Films, Television Series and Music Videos including: Music Artist: Kidd Kenn, feat Erica Banks “Do Dat At”, Music Artist: DDG “Meet Me In The Lobby”, Another Love Story (Film), The Black Hamptons (BET series), The Block Trilogies (Series), Hope Street Holiday (Film), Chasing LA (Series), The Sweet Life of Andre & FlyKingi (Series), Lipstick (Film), and The Family Business New Orleans (BET series).

Alright, so to wrap up, is there anything else you’d like to share with us?
In just five short years in Los Angeles, D.Hawkins has established himself as an undeniably innovative creative and rising star!

His recent show-stopping live performance of his hit single “BowWow,” featuring artist H.E.M., at LA Fashion Week 2025. Hosted by LA Fashion Closet, was a standout moment.

The performance captivated the audience with its bold blend of modern religious themes and sleek, secular style. From striking visuals to dynamic choreography, the entire set was a mesmerizing spectacle from start to finish.

With this electrifying showcase, D.Hawkins continues to solidify his position as one of the most promising rising stars in the Los Angeles entertainment scene!
