Conversations with Daliana Lopez

Today we’d like to introduce you to Daliana Lopez.

Daliana Lopez

Hi Daliana, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My passion for entertainment has been lifelong. I’ve been moving and grooving since childhood. In high school, I took my love for dance to the next level by joining Inertia Dance Co. in Houston, where I trained in various styles and deepened my connection to the art form. After graduating, I began my journey as a dance instructor and educator, sharing my knowledge and love for movement with others. In 2022, I took a leap of faith and moved to Los Angeles to further my career. The past three years have been a testament to my dedication, filled with hard work, sacrifice, and relentless perseverance.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
One of the hardest parts of this journey has been facing the uncertainty that comes with chasing a career in the Arts. I knew moving to Los Angeles was going to be hard, but I wasn’t prepared for the weight of financial struggles, constant rejection, and the moments of self-doubt that threatened to break me. There were days when I felt invisible, when the sacrifices felt too heavy, and when I questioned if all the pain was worth it. I’ve battled injuries, burnout, and the loneliness that comes with building something from the ground up. But through every hardship, dance has been my anchor. No matter how many times I’ve been knocked down, the love I have for my art, my community, and the people I inspire keeps me fighting for this dream.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I’m a multidisciplinary artist, both a performer and visual creator. My work spans across dance, choreography, modeling, and multimedia art. Movement is at the core of everything I do, whether I’m battling, performing on stage, or teaching. I specialize in street styles like House, Hip-Hop, and Reparto, and I’m known for blending storytelling and emotional depth into my freestyle.

In addition to dance, I model and create visual art, including tattoo work through my brand Echoes of Agony. What I’m most proud of is the way I’ve built my path from scratch, staying true to my voice while continuing to evolve.

What sets me apart is my cultural foundation, my vulnerability in performance, and my commitment to creating spaces that empower others, especially women and youth. Whether I’m teaching a class, competing in a battle, or sharing my artwork, my goal is always to connect deeply and leave people feeling seen, inspired, and moved.

We love surprises, fun facts and unexpected stories. Is there something you can share that might surprise us?
Something that might surprise people is that I’m actually very introspective and sensitive. A lot of my dance work comes across as bold and high-energy, especially in battles or performances, but behind that is someone who spends a lot of time reflecting and channeling personal experiences into movement. I also have a deep love for visual storytelling through drawing, painting, and tattoo design. That quiet, creative space fuels the emotional depth I bring to my performances and teaching.

What makes my work impactful is that I don’t just train for technique. I invest in storytelling, authenticity, and connection. Whether I’m choreographing, performing, or teaching, I bring intention, versatility, and a clear vision to every project. That blend of emotion and professionalism is what keeps people coming back and what I believe makes my work stand out.
