Today we’d like to introduce you to Cory Danziger
Hi Cory, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My professional journey has been rooted in art and entertainment. I grew up acting in film and television programs, went to college, and then transitioned into the world of creating and releasing artwork. I’ve also been releasing books.
As a child and teenager, acting was a passion. I appeared in quite a few films, most notably The Burbs, playing the son of Carrie Fisher and Tom Hanks. I was also a cast member on the series Beauty and the Beast. I enjoyed acting, and I had the opportunity to work with some incredibly talented people.
When I went to college, the acting phase of my life had a nice closure. In school, I discovered writing and fine art. My interests were changing and evolving.
Once I graduated, I began writing professionally. I was writing for television advertising. I had a lot of success in that niche. I really enjoyed conceiving and writing television commercials.
Then I met Ravi Dosaj, an Art Director. He is very talented and a good friend. We joined forces and began to work together under the name SceneFour. Together, we found a common love for crafting artwork that centered on collaboration. The platform was unique. We’d invite music legends to work with us on the creation of fine art collections. This would serve as the musician’s foray into the world of visual art.
Over the last 21 years, we’ve released more than 60 collections. The work has found an incredible audience of collectors around the globe. The art is also featured and sold in many galleries and even some of our works are shown in museums worldwide.
I am also creating solo works of art. These can be found at www.corydanzigerart.com.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
I wouldn’t say that the road I’ve taken has been “smooth.” It’s been rewarding. But “smooth” hasn’t been part of the experience. There’s been periods of great progress and success and periods when the storms of life seem to find me.
We’ve had times when ideas flow and our creative work has found a great audience. We’ve experienced periods that have made us buckle up and prepare to weather more difficult times. The key for me has been an understanding that life moves in phases. Sort of like the weather…there’s going to be periods of time when the sun is shining and then times when there’s rain and wind in the forecast. Being able to navigate forward, no matter what the conditions are has been paramount. If times are challenging and I can’t sprint to my goal then I try and walk there. If I can’t walk toward the goal, then I try and crawl. The most important thing is that I keep moving forward no matter what the speed. Progress is progress no matter what pace I’m going at.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I find pride in my history. For years, I tried to not look back at the various phases in my life. Things have changed as I’ve matured. I now look back at each phase of my life, whether it be acting or writing or art, and I appreciate each of these periods.
I’m particularly proud of the longevity of SceneFour. I’m proud to have blazed a special partnership with Ravi Dosaj that’s allowed us to make a living and to work with some extraordinary musicians on fine art. We’ve released collections with members of Red Hot Chili Peppers, Grateful Dead, Def Leppard, Black Sabbath and so many more. Working with these incredible musicians has taught me so much about work ethic, character, and the keys to collaboration. It’s been a real gift.
Before we go, is there anything else you can share with us?
I’ve been thinking a lot recently about the importance of personal development. I’ve written and released several books over the years, and the latest book I’ve written focuses on the importance of personal development.
I’ve realized in recent years that investing time in yourself is the greatest investment someone can make. Working on having a healthy attitude and living in gratitude is like giving yourself a gift. A good attitude is transformative. The world we see around us is all up to interpretation. A good attitude makes the world a more pleasant place.
