Today we’d like to introduce you to Christopher Kuchta.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I grew up in Pennsylvania and moved to Los Angeles in 2020 with the goal of building something of my own in a creative industry. Like a lot of people I didn’t have a perfectly mapped out plan, I visited a friend in North Hollywood in 2019 and knew almost immediately that moving to California was something I needed to work toward. By the following year I was driving across the country to move into an apartment in North Hollywood.
I had briefly started freelancing as a web designer and developer before the move and had enough confidence that I could fully support myself in a new state. I was willing to take the risk. I arrived in Los Angeles during the height of the pandemic, which, in hindsight, became an unexpected advantage as it allowed me to stay fully focused on building my career and planning for the future.
I worked relentlessly during that time, growing my client base across the Los Angeles area. As I continued building the business, I moved through several neighborhoods in the past few years including, North Hollywood, Burbank, Koreatown, and Pasadena. That momentum led to the launch of CK Design & Development, where I specialize in Webflow development and UX/UI design. The business has grown through referrals and long-term relationships, and I’ve had the opportunity to work with startups, established companies like Linktree, and creative teams across a wide range of industries.
Alongside client work, I’ve always believed in building my own projects as a way to stay creative and challenged. That mindset led to launching All Eyes On Us, a clothing brand I run on the side. It serves as a creative outlet where I can experiment with branding, storytelling, and product design, while still applying the same strategic and design principles I use in my client work.
Looking back, the common thread throughout my journey has been a willingness to take risks, continue learning, and build things step by step. Moving to Los Angeles forced me to grow quickly, both personally and professionally and today I’m focused on creating thoughtful digital experiences while continuing to build my own brands and long-term projects.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It definitely hasn’t been a completely smooth road. Moving across the country and starting a business at the same time came with a lot of uncertainty, especially arriving in Los Angeles during the pandemic. Early on, there was no guaranteed stability projects would come and go, and I had to learn quickly how to manage inconsistent income, client expectations, and the pressure of being fully responsible for my own success.
There were also personal challenges that came with constantly pushing forward. Long hours, isolation at times, and the mental weight of building something from scratch forced me to develop discipline and resilience. However, those challenges were also what shaped my confidence and clarified the type of work and clients I wanted to pursue.
Looking back, the struggles were essential. They helped me build a sustainable business, further develop my skills, and build a mindset focused on long-term growth rather than quick wins.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I focus on designing and building clean, functional websites that actually work for the businesses behind them. Through CK Design & Development, I specialize in Webflow development and UX/UI design, helping companies turn ideas into sites that are easy to use, easy to manage, and built to grow over time.
I’m known for combining design and development into one process, so clients aren’t bouncing between different people or systems. I care a lot about details, structure, and building things the right way, not just making something look good at launch.
What I’m most proud of is the long term relationships I’ve built. A lot of my work comes from referrals, which tells me clients trust both my work and how I collaborate. Alongside client projects, I also build my own brands and ideas, which keeps me creative and constantly learning.
Is there something surprising that you feel even people who know you might not know about?
Something that surprises people is how much my approach to work comes from skateboarding. From around age 10 through 18, I skateboarded almost every day for hours. It taught me early on that progress doesn’t happen overnight and you will fail constantly, but if you keep showing up and practicing, things eventually click. The key to my success is persistence and genuinely finding something you love to do that you can become obbessed with.
