Conversations with Christina Moore

Today we’d like to introduce you to Christina Moore.

Christina Moore

Hi Christina, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I grew up in Chicago, which gave me my sense of humor. Those winters– the snow, the ice, the death-defying temps give you some sass and some grit. I graduated from Illinois Wesleyan University a semester early and jetted off to Los Angeles all alone. You only get to be young and dumb once in your life; I believe you have to take advantage of that gumption while you’ve got it.

I’ve been in the entertainment industry for over 25 years now. I started off doing Japanese commercials for cash under the table, moved to “must-see TV” racking up tons of sitcom guest spots, and landed my first TV series in 1998. I had some early luck for sure, but in order to survive Los Angeles, you must be light on your feet, ready to pivot, and not afraid to try new things.

Up until eight years ago, I worked only as an actress. I worked in loads of popular comedies, serious dramas, nighttime soaps, and commercial campaigns. In 2015, I wrote and produced my first film. Since then, I have produced 11 films and one television series, some of which I am in and some I am not. I have lived through being fired (you aren’t really vetted in Hollywood til that happens), two massive union strikes, the birth of streamers, and the death of the DVD. I give credit to that grit — I’ve needed it.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Isaac Newton, “What goes up must come down.”

Would you call a roller coaster ride smooth? Then perhaps my answer is yes. There is no such thing as the struggle-less way– or a life that only bends towards ease. The ebbs and flows are seasonal — they are both there to teach you.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
