Conversations with Chloé Noble

Today we’d like to introduce you to Chloé Noble.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
My story starts in France, where I grew up. As a little girl, I always enjoyed acting, dancing and everything artistic. When I was eighteen I moved to Paris to pursue acting training. I studied theater at the Sorbonne University and followed classes at the Atelier International Blanche Salant. Very early on in my career, I was interested in interdisciplinary arts and always considered expressive bodywork as central to my craft. In 2009 I moved to Kentfield in North San Francisco where I studied with the choreographer Anna Halprin for several years. Acting wise I worked with Margie Haber in her studio in Hollywood Los Angeles and graduated from the American Academy of Dramatic Arts in New York. Today feeling very enriched from these incredibly valuable training I act in independent movies, do theater, teach expressive art and recently got into writing as well!

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
I can’t say it has been a smooth road. As every journey mine had some ups and some downs. I’d say the main struggle for me is to stay enthusiast about getting myself out there, keep going to auditions, keep trying again and again, even after a hundred of negative answers. The acting industry is very tough and heartless sometimes and it can be easy to feel discouraged at times.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I work as an actress, a dancer, I also teach movement-based expressive art. I love to interconnect different art forms when I work. I also do drawing and painting, as well as writing. I am part of a collective Artistique Resonance Collective. We do films and performances devising original work from actual social matters. We did pieces that deal with depression, social rights or the impact of the pandemic.

Recently I acted in a pretty cool horror movie and a mini-series. They are running now into festivals so more soon…

Do you have recommendations for books, apps, blogs, etc?
There is this book I am reading now: Creating a Life Worth Living by Carol Lloyd. It is both made of storytelling and practical exercises. I really appreciate books that help you reflect on yourself, your career and your life while. They are always game changers for me.
