Conversations with Chanelly

Today we’d like to introduce you to Chanelly.

Hi Chanelly, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
Well, I grew up around the entertainment industry as many of those close to me were in it and I knew it was something I’ve always wanted to be a part of. In the beginning, I didn’t know exactly what part of the business I wanted to be involved with until my senior year of high school when I really locked in with the music. I presented the idea to my mom and she was all for it which gave me another confidence to really pursue it. I then reached out to Percy who’s a close family friend that has been well known in the industry for years and he eventually introduced me to Moolah which is the first producer I ever worked with. From that point on I’ve just been grinding in the studio and recently been working on more visuals and singles to put out.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Being an artist definitely comes with challenges. One of the main things that I struggle with is not letting time fly by. As an artist there’s not a set road for us where it’s like oh okay if you do all these steps you’ll be successful, you really just have to be consistent and see what works best for you. Luckily, I learned early to surround myself with people that genuinely have my best interests at heart and have helped to guide me in the right direction however they could but it’s still a process at the end of the day.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I RAP! I’ve been rapping for about two years now and music is something I’m extremely passionate about. I started off with posting car raps and freestyles on my Instagram until I found the confidence to actually put out my own original music, which you can find on all music platforms.

Music is really an outlet for me so you get to experience all my different moods and emotions through my songs. I bring real bars to the table and I feel like that’s one of the main things that sets me apart, in addition to being able to talk about a variety of topics in my music. Whether your feeling yourself or your in your feels, there’s definitely a song for you.

I’m honestly proud of how much my pen game has evolved and how my confidence has grown, you can really hear it in the music. I really want to put on for the Inland Empire and the West Coast overall, especially since I’m a female rapper from here. Females are really hot right now in the game and I feel like it’s time we have some more talented women emerging out of Southern California.

How can people work with you, collaborate with you or support you?
I’m always open to working and collaborating with artists, brands, videographers, etc. You can find me on Instagram @itzchanelly and my contact information is all there. I appreciate everyone that supports me and you can do so through streaming and sharing my music!
