Conversations with Carter Kench

Today we’d like to introduce you to Carter Kench.

Hi Carter, so excited to have you on the platform. So, before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
In 8th grade, I was in this dance unit and we learned a dance. I was obsessed with this one choreography and I made an Instagram account where I would post-dance content that ended up getting popular. I called it cringe dance. When TikTok came out I decided to roll with “CringeCarter” to branch into other content. I then created trend/acting/relatable content. The account also received traction, especially with my Dunkin’ content.

I pretty much knew I liked to entertain and create videos so I believed in myself and took a chance.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle-free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
It is hard being away from my family after moving across the country. I am very close with them. Being in the public eye is also tough on one’s ego, I’m also super young, and seeing my other peers excel at different rates can be tough.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am a content creator – I focus mainly on TikTok but am also building my platforms on YouTube, Snapchat and Instagram. I am known for my Dunkin’ content, LED lightroom, and love for Halloween. I’m proud of all I have been able to do for myself in the past 2 years at a young age – what sets me apart from others is I stay 100% genuine to who I am as a person when making these videos. It can be really easy to get into scripting content just to stay on track but that is not my style.

What do you like and dislike about the city?
I love that in LA I never feel like I’m alone – I am surrounded by other creatives who are doing the exact same as me and it is motivating to be in this environment. I also love that there is so much to do here – I’m surrounded by sunshine, the beach, amusement parks. I love living in a big city because all my life I was more in a “town” in Georgia.

What I like the least about LA is the traffic and because it is such a populated city and on top has so much tourism, it can get pretty dirty.
