Conversations with Brandon Sierra

Today we’d like to introduce you to Brandon Sierra.

Hi Brandon, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I am currently the Director of the Talent Department at McDonald Selznick Associates based in Los Angeles California. I have been a talent agent for the last 12 years working my way here from NYC where I interned for another agency after my own professional dance career had come to an end in New York.

Making the transition from professional dancer to Talent Agent seemed like the natural evolution for my career and life experiences and relationships I gained from my own performance career helped pave the way for me to succeed in the world of professional representation.

I currently represent professional dancers, choreographers, actors, drag queens and digital/social media influencers.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
There are always ups and downs and hills to climb in the entertainment world but for the most part, the rewards have far outweighed the stressors. Getting to call someone and tell them they have a job is still the most rewarding experience of this job.

I think moving here to LA 11 years ago was the most difficult hurdle for me and was a hard decision to make at the time. I had visited LA in the past but as a born and bred east coast boy (upstate NY and NYC) leaving behind family, friends and of course, my former dance career in the big apple was a very tough decision to make.

After all of these years I couldn’t be more proud of taking that risk. I can’t imagine living anywhere else than right here in Los Angeles.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
Dance has and always will be the main focus of my career! I like to think I represent the greatest dancers in the world!

Through my career venture I also have had the chance to represent actors, social media influencers and some of the most popular Drag Queens from RuPauls Drag Race.

I have always prided myself on my own past in the industry and how that has shaped me as an agent and Director. I believe in strong communication and accountability between client and agent and when those things are working together, you will always find success together.

I am proud of the relationships I’ve created and the reputation I have built and earned for myself here in Hollywood and across our industry as a whole.

Are there any apps, books, podcasts, blogs or other resources you think our readers should check out?
Readers should feel free to follow our company social medias (@msaagency) to follow along our dance and creative journey!
