Today we’d like to introduce you to Bilal Young.
Hi Bilal, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
During the 2020 pandemic, there was no way of getting stage time. A couple of friends started an independent show name PB BackyardComedy which I was a part of. Sitting back just learning how to run a show, learning how to balance the show, etc. from previously running an open mic before the pandemic, I decided it was finally time to really challenge myself. February 27th, 2021 I started my own show “The Weston Young Experience”(named after my son Levi Weston Young). Since then I’ve produced comedy shows all over San Diego at various places such as Basic Bar/Pizza, Sugar Factory San Diego, and now I’m getting ready to produce my show at The Laugh Factory San Diego. Instead of waiting for the opportunities, I told myself just to make them.
I’m no booker whatsoever I’m just a comedian who knows the business. As I wait for Bilal Young to be presented to the entertainment world, I figure while I continue to work on my craft as an entertainer, I want to give other comedians opportunities to perform on very good shows as well. Most comedians don’t have the pleasure to perform on meaningful shows. It’s no fun when your friends can’t reap the benefits as well. The Weston Young Experience not doing produce comedy shows but this is a whole entertainment company. We are getting ready to host our first pool party and more things to come in the near future. I just bet on myself not just in entertainment but life in general.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Some of the struggles would be everyone now is producing comedy shows, which ultimately will saturate the market, pressure of selling tickets because a lot of sales comes last minute, you have technical difficulties sometimes, etc. All these things are part of the journey so you learn from them and keep it pushing.

I am a comedian/entertainer who specializes in escaping people’s minds off personal issues to enjoy a night of fun. I’m known for entertaining people with various things such as: comedy shows, trivia night, karaoke night, game night, pool parties, corporate events, birthdays, etc. My most proud moment is producing a comedy show at The Laugh Factory San Diego.
The thing that sets me apart from everyone else is that I truly understand time waits for no one. Maximize every second because it counts.
