Conversations with AriBella

Today we’d like to introduce you to AriBella.

Hi AriBella, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
How did I end up here? I always ask myself that question… It was like one day I woke up and I was living across the country for the sake of my dreams but still trying to navigate the path I’m supposed to be on. To quote one of my dear Idols Miley “Life’s a climb but the view is great” expresses the many journeys I’ve been on trying to reach a goal, sometimes it feels like the closer I get, the further away the finish line is of the first race.

To answer your question, I’ve been performing since I was seven, where one dream to be on broadway turned into a bigger dream of being a Pop Star and since then I haven’t looked back. Performing all throughout my adolescent years, after High School I decided to head to NYC to work on my dance skills while trying to navigate the music industry in the big apple. Five years of professional dance training, making music that wasn’t up to my standards, losing and finding myself in the greatest city in the world I felt I needed to go elsewhere. I was stagnant and headed west. I spent about four months alone in LA before making a real friend, which was hard for me but I knew I had to be here. Music is everywhere, opportunity never ends in this city. So I stuck it out, and it was so worth it. I get to work with childhood idols, expressing my creative visions alongside some of my best friends and making music better than I ever have before & I’m just getting started. I’m very excited to see what path follows the release of my debut single. Maybe I’ll make it one step closer to the finish line of the first race. You know they say, “Slow and steady, wins the race”.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It definitely has not been a smooth road. I’ve dealt with a lot of people who are like … best way to describe them is “Oh wow you’re a star!!! Let me help you!! I know a guy who I can take you too! Let me waste your time for four months and then drop you because it takes actual work to develop and artist” type people. Needless to say, I’ve been given the run around many of times. But I don’t mind these bumps in my road. I love the journey, I love being exactly where I am, with exactly who I’m with. I don’t see any of my low moments as struggles, but as fuel to get me back up stronger than before.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I’m a singer/songwriter, I dance, & I work as a stylist. My main focus is music but you can find me frolicking all over Los Angeles doing any creative job I can. I’m most proud of myself for coming to LA where I didn’t have anyone and creating a community for myself that leads me to so many opportunities. It was really hard for me to be here, away from my friends & family. I still have a hard time being away from them but I know it will all be worth it.

I think what sets me apart from others is the insight I have in the industry as an artist who actually works behind the scenes with bigger artists. I’ve learned so much about the foundations that hold our biggest stars to the highest of heights. When I do projects for my music I am thinking of every little detail of my styling, my visuals, the direction, and making sure I’m treating my team the way I would want to be treated. I will never take the experiences or the people around me for granted. Showing gratitude in this industry is the best thing you can do for someone. I want to make sure everyone wants to be there and help execute my vision as much as I do.

Is there something surprising that you feel even people who know you might not know about?
That my artist name AriBella comes from the name of my family’s restaurant of 17 years. My full name is Ariana but my Dad always called me Bella growing up .. so when it came time for a new restaurant they decided to go with AriBella. They recently sold our restaurant, but growing up there held so many memories and lessons. I wanted to honor my family in some way for all our hard work every person put in so I decided to now be AriBella so their legacy could live on.
