Today we’d like to introduce you to Aria Skye.
Hi Aria, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I’ve been around music my entire life because both of my parents make music. My mom (Miahni) mainly focuses on singing and vocal production, and my dad (Richie Stacks) mainly focuses on beat production and rapping. I feel like growing up in that musically saturated environment, I was really able to hone in and take on both of their talents. I started focusing on producing for myself when I was 15, but I didn’t start getting good and taking it seriously until around 2021-2022. Ever Since then I’ve been producing, writing, and engineering music for myself and others.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
I’ve encountered a lot of struggles, but those obstacles aren’t stopping anything. Yes, being an artist is expensive, and it’s a lot of work that must be done outside of being an artist to support your artistry. You have to get out of your comfort zone, make new connections, maintain those connections, post more, make money, make the art, fund the art, learn how to fall and hop right back up, and still try to find balance in your life. It definitely has not been the smoothest road but I’ve learned how to navigate it by changing my mindset and strengthening my relationship with God. What I described might be a long list, and not even half of what I, and many other artists have endured, but I love each and every step of the Journey because it’s mine. God has my name written all over it and no one can take that away from me. Not only has this journey allowed me to grow in my artistry, but my faith as well because regardless of my circumstances, I know I have to keep going. The only thing that can stop me is me.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
As I’ve continued along my artist journey, I’ve found that I do much more than just singing, songwriting, and producing. I’ve found myself fashion designing, modeling, creative directing, creating content, etc. These were things I wasn’t aware that I was even capable of, but I was put into situations where I was forced to expand, and I am incredibly grateful of the outcome. I’m just starting out and I know I will continue to expand. I’m excited to learn more about myself. One quality that I really love about me is I can find creativity in everything.
Before we let you go, we’ve got to ask if you have any advice for those who are just starting out?
First of all, NEVER QUIT. No matter what anybody is telling you, do not give up on yourself and your dreams because if no one has your back, you have to have your back. And If God is telling you to do something then you need to walk into every room and opportunity like God sent you there because HE DID.
