Hi Anthony, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
My journey started in childhood, being raised by a hardworking single mother who struggled to keep me and my two sisters afloat. Watching her resilience instilled in me a tenacity that shaped the man I am today. I learned early on never to ask for handouts and instead took it upon myself to create opportunities.
As far back as I can remember, I was hustling. I’d go to school during the day, then after class, I’d buy a box of movie-sized chocolates for $30 and stand outside markets selling them until 8 or 9 p.m. Selling a whole box would make me $70, and soon I was moving almost two boxes a day. I’ll never forget the look on my mom’s face when I handed her the money I made—first puzzled, then worried, and finally proud when I told her, “I worked for it.”
That drive never left me. Since finding a job at a young age was tough—most employers wouldn’t take me seriously—I found work wherever I could. I did everything from working in a slaughterhouse to gardening, all while keeping up with my education. At 17, I landed my first official job at Hart Food Inc., where I earned a raise in my first month and even received a letter of recommendation from the owner, who spoke highly of my work ethic—something that still resonates with me today.
Despite the adversity—whether it was lacking transportation or not having many role models, —I kept tunnel vision. I refused to let my circumstances define me and I carved out my own path. That same mindset has driven me through every venture, leading me to where I am today with Love Machine Pizza.
The story behind Love Machine Pizza is simple. I was invited to cook at my nephew’s party, and in that moment, I had the idea to make pizza from scratch. All those years of culinary experience and my deep desire to serve others came together in that moment, and that’s when Love Machine Pizza was born. Established in 2024, it’s been about more than just making great pizza—it’s about creating something that unites people through food and love.
It’s also something I do for my sons, Jayden and Noah, as well as other young people, to show them that pursuing your dreams is possible. I want them to see firsthand that hard work and passion can turn dreams into reality.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Almost never.
Growing up, life was far from stable. For many years, I had a stepdad who wasn’t the best, and home never really felt like a safe or steady place. There was a time when I found myself sleeping on my grandma Nonnie’s floor or couch. But looking back, I realize she was always there for me—always making sure I had a home-cooked meal and a place to go when I needed it. Over the years, I moved around a lot.
By my sophomore year of high school, my uncle took me in. That was a turning point where I had to be fully responsible for myself. Despite having no real supervision, I chose to stay on the right path and push forward.
Then, on my 16th birthday, I experienced a tragic event where I lost some close friends. It was a heartbreaking moment that could have changed the course of my life. But even through loss and adversity, I was determined to keep going. I pulled myself together, stayed focused, and made sure I graduated.
Another challenge I encountered was working in environments where there was a lack of passion for the work and the people. However, this became a driving force for me, motivating me to create a space where I could do something I love—something that would have a tangible impact on everyone I serve.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
At Love Machine Pizza, we’re a pop-up shop and catering service. We specialize in high-quality, handcrafted pizzas made with love, fresh ingredients, and a whole lot of passion. Our focus is on creating unique flavors that bring people together, whether it’s a classic favorite or one of our signature creations.
Part of the intention behind our pop-ups is to give customers the opportunity to see me make their pizza from scratch and add a little entertainment for them. It’s all about building a personal connection and providing a unique experience
At the heart of the Love Machine Pizza is our commitment to supporting struggling families and youth in pursuing their dreams and goals. We’ve pledged to donate 10% of all proceeds to those in need, ensuring that our success helps others along the way. supporting the community is at the heart of what I do. It’s not just about running a business—it’s about giving back and making a difference.
What I’m most proud of is building something from the ground up that represents not just great food, but also hard work, resilience, and community. Love Machine Pizza is dedicated to inspiring youth to chase their dreams and supporting people in any way I can. I know firsthand how important it is to have someone believe in you, and I want to use my journey to show others that no matter where you come from, success is possible with dedication and perseverance.

In terms of anything I may have left out, I want to make it clear that supporting the community is at the heart of what I do. It’s not just about running a business—it’s about giving back and making a difference. In a short time, and on my own dime, I’ve already donated to a local boxing gym and other places in need. The more support I receive, the more I can continue to give back and help uplift the community. I’m committed to keeping this momentum going, and with the support of others, we can make a real impact together.
