Today we’d like to introduce you to Anna Chernova.
Hi Anna, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I am a tattoo artist from Europe and the founder of my own unique style. I have been tattooing for 10 years already, I have 2 art educations. Winner and permanent participant of tattoo conventions in Europe and USA. I am currently based in Los Angeles and San Francisco.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
The road was never smooth, starting from the fact that I was not taken to more than one tattoo convention, although I always really wanted to. Now, I sit on the panel of judges at these events. A bunch of my unrealized projects that were never realized. I think that depending on how my skill in tattoos grew, so did I.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I work in a graphic style and sometimes add realism. I really like to work based on Scandinavian mythology; I often come up with characters myself. All my works often have hidden subtext and are made in a dark style. What makes me different from others is probably that I don’t get hung up on technique or style; I simply convey my vision, endowing the characters with character and emotions, which allows the client’s idea and mine to fully reveal themselves, making my work come alive
What would you say has been one of the most important lessons you’ve learned?
I think the main lesson is to draw a lot, a lot! And analyze what you read and what is happening. My work is based on emotions; I analyze facial expressions and facial expressions, eyes in people to convey this in my work.
