Today we’d like to introduce you to Andrea Knoche and Katie LeBlanc.
Andrea and Katie, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
We are two divorced middle-aged women that met at a mutual friend’s wine and hike party. After chatting over wine, we soon realized we had a lot in common as well as with a few of the other women in attendance. Andrea had previously had her own podcast that she did by herself and was looking for a new co-host to join her on the adventure. Andrea felt that Katie had a special “je ne sais quoi” and thought she would be great to possibly join her and approached her about doing a podcast together. After a few happy hour meetings to discuss, the podcast “From Mrs to Ms” with Katie and Andrea was born. The podcast discusses the trials and tribulations of being married for many years and what happens after divorce.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
For the most part, it has been a smooth road. Thankfully, we were able to secure the podcast on a local network that helped to get us started. Katie had been part of a family channel many years ago on Youtube that was very successful and so a lot of followers/friends were anxious and interested to see what Katie would bring to this new podcast. They were pleasantly surprised. However, the network unfortunately catered to a younger age demographic than what we were looking for and so we are now venturing out on our own to continue what we started with the assistance of the previous network.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
Katie and Andrea met in early November and became quick friends. They started a podcast in December called “From Mrs to Ms” which explores life after divorce and what life looks like for middle-aged women in their next chapters. We talk about the good, the bad and the ugly. We discuss the dating sites and what dating looks like nowadays compared to many years ago. We are most proud of coming out of our shells and feeling comfortable enough to share our experiences and anecdotes with the world. I think what sets us apart from others is the yin and yang of our friendship. Katie is a little more reserved and more shy while Andrea is a little more outgoing and not afraid to go places. This dynamic works well for the podcast because we can provide different perspectives for the audience to relate to.
We have accumulated over 60K views on YouTube with the video portion of our podcast for the first 6 episodes and an aggregate of more than 50k downloads on all streaming platforms since the inception in March 2023. You can follow us on all major streaming platforms and hope they share with friends/family. We are looking for any sponsors that feel they resonate with our podcast as well
