Today we’d like to introduce you to Adam Santana
Hi Adam, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
It all began when I was a child. While in elementary school, I developed an interest in drawing. I started creating my own characters and doodling ideas. At the time, I didn’t fully realize how far my artwork could take me, but I knew I loved watching cartoons and was a huge fan of Disney shows and movies. My mom noticed my passion and suggested that I could turn my talent into a career. From that moment on, I made it my mission to pursue art. Though I wasn’t sure how to get there, I knew that hard work was key.
Over the years, I continued to draw and improve my skills. I took every drawing class I could in high school, then enrolled in community college to further my education. Eventually, I attended The Art Institute of Los Angeles, where I earned my bachelor’s degree in Animation and Multimedia. Not only did I refine my drawing abilities, but I also learned to create in animation, 3D modeling, special effects, painting, and more.
I began working in the fashion industry and gained valuable business insights through my mentor. Over time, I built my own graphic design and illustration business, steadily growing a large client base. As time passed, I transitioned to working with print-on-demand platforms. I started with Redbubble.com and expanded to several other platforms. I’ve had success on these sites and have been featured as an artist multiple times.
My brand, “Adamzworld,” was established during my college years and has since become my signature. Today, I continue to work with clients and build an extensive library of designs.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
My journey hasn’t been a smooth one. I’ve had to learn a lot along the way, from mastering my craft to understanding the business side of things. Going to school provided me with the skills to create, but I quickly realized I needed to learn much more if I was going to do things independently. If I was going to build a client base, how would I find clients? How could I market my work? How would I get my name out there? I had to experiment and learn through trial and error.
When I first started, social media was nothing like it is today. There was no Facebook yet—just MySpace, and YouTube had just begun, with most people not even aware of it. I began uploading my work and networking aggressively. Eventually, I learned to write code and even designed MySpace pages for others. At the time, I had no real understanding of pricing or how to properly value my work. I had to learn how to present myself, schedule meetings, and build my network.
Fortunately, I was able to connect with others who helped me along the way. I joined teams and worked on numerous projects, always asking questions and eager to learn as much as I could. Over the years, I read many books, and without those books, I wouldn’t have been able to acquire so much knowledge in such a short time.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
As a visual artist, I specialize in graphic design and illustration, with a passion for creating dynamic and impactful visuals that tell a story. My work blends traditional techniques with modern design, allowing me to craft unique, eye-catching pieces that resonate with my audience. I’m known for my ability to capture bold concepts and transform them into polished designs, whether it’s through intricate illustrations, vibrant color palettes, or innovative typography.
What sets me apart is my versatility and attention to detail. I pride myself on being able to adapt my style to suit a wide range of projects, from branding and promotional materials to custom artwork for clients across different industries. I’m equally comfortable working in both the digital and physical spaces, whether it’s designing graphics for websites and social media or creating print pieces that make a lasting impression.
One of the things I’m most proud of is my ability to build meaningful connections with my clients and collaborators. I’ve always believed that the best designs come from understanding the vision and needs of the people I work with, and I strive to create work that not only meets but exceeds their expectations. My brand, “Adamzworld,” has become a representation of my journey and evolution as an artist, and I’m grateful for the recognition I’ve received, including being featured on platforms like Redbubble and working with a diverse range of clients.
Ultimately, what sets me apart is my commitment to continuous growth and my passion for learning. I’m always pushing myself to explore new techniques, improve my skills, and experiment with fresh ideas—because I believe that the key to staying relevant and distinctive in this field is evolving alongside the changing trends in design and art.
What matters most to you? Why?
What matters most to me is creating work that resonates with others and makes a positive impact. As an artist, my ultimate goal is to inspire and connect with people through my designs. Whether it’s a piece that sparks joy, evokes emotion, or encourages someone to see things from a different perspective, I find great fulfillment in knowing that my work has meaning beyond just aesthetics.
On a deeper level, personal growth is incredibly important to me. I’m constantly seeking opportunities to challenge myself, learn new techniques, and refine my craft. Growth, both as an artist and as an individual, drives me to stay motivated and keep pushing boundaries. The process of evolving, trying new things, and stepping out of my comfort zone is what keeps my work fresh and exciting.
What also matters to me is maintaining integrity in everything I do. Staying true to my values, whether in my creative work or business relationships, is something I prioritize. Being authentic and committed to my vision is what allows me to build lasting, meaningful connections with my clients, collaborators, and audience.
