Conversations with Abel José

Today we’d like to introduce you to Abel José.

Abel José

Hi Abel, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today.
My story begins in high school when I landed an internship with Psylence, a fashion and design company. This opportunity allowed me to delve into the world of fashion and design, igniting my passion for the industry. As I progressed, I was given the chance to model in several projects, which further fueled my interest and paved the way for my involvement in significant endeavors.

Working at Psylence exposed me to various facets of the industry, from behind-the-scenes work to on-set experiences, which proved to be incredibly impactful and formative for me. These experiences shaped my skills, perspective, and aspirations within the fashion and design realm.

Today, I am still actively involved in projects within the industry, continuously striving to learn, grow, and contribute to creative endeavors. My journey thus far has been marked by valuable experiences, challenges, and opportunities, and I am excited to continue sharing my passion and creativity with the world.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back, would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
No, it’s common to face challenges, especially when establishing your image and brand. Overspending on budgets and making mistakes are all a part of my learning process. Continuously overcoming these hurdles ultimately contributed to my development and success.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I specialize in commercial modeling, particularly for brands like Psylence, and I’m also known for my piano skills. One of my proudest achievements is preparing for and participating in Psylence’s runway show. What sets me apart is my ability to excel in both modeling and music, bringing a unique blend of creativity and professionalism to my work.

What has been the most important lesson you’ve learned along your journey?
The most important lesson I’ve learned is the value of persistence and commitment to one’s goals, especially when supported by a dedicated team. Following through with plans and goals, even in the face of challenges, is crucial for success and growth.
