Today we’d like to introduce you to Zia Domic.
Zia, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I was a struggling actor and needed another creative outlet, having always been a lover of fashion, I wanted to share this admiration by starting a blog showcasing my own personal style.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
My biggest fear was running out of clothes to keep things fresh, but I was lucky to have attained a certain amount of success right away with brand collaborations. Many sent me a product to feature on my blog, but I did not start making money for several years in. Perseverance is definitely key as is staying true to yourself. It’s easy to get caught up in what seems popular but maintaining your own identity is what will ultimately set you apart.
What should we know about The Hunter Collector? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
I still just consider myself a blogger and don’t really adhere to the influencer label, I’m here to inspire not influence. I think at the end of the day what sets me apart is just me being me… and all of my fabulous accessories!
For good reason, society often focuses more on the problems rather than the opportunities that exist, because the problems need to be solved. However, we’d probably also benefit from looking for and recognizing the opportunities that women are better positioned to capitalize on. Have you discovered such opportunities?
I think this is a great time for women who are willing to work hard. I see so many bloggers who want instant status with social media, but I feel you need to spend time to nurture your opportunities. I think women can do/be anything as long as they are committed!
