Conversations with the Inspiring Ruby Woo

Today we’d like to introduce you to Ruby Woo.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Ruby. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I’m originally from Pittsburg, CA. better known as the Bay Area. I grew up singing in church. I began recording music in high school as the vocalist of a rap group. I then moved to the South where I began my career as a solo artist. While in Atlanta, I played many gigs and collaborated with some amazingly talented people. I then relocated back to California to continue pursuing my music. I’ve been blessed with some amazing opportunities including being a supporting vocalist for two tours, performing at Coachella, MTV VMAS, SXSW, B.B. Kings, Hard Rock Cafe Hollywood and Universal City Walk. I’m currently working on my EP and can’t wait to share it with the world!

Has it been a smooth road?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road. There are so many struggles associated with being an independent artist. Sometimes, you’re unsure what your next step should be or whether you’re making the right decisions.
My advice is to trust yourself, believe in your gift and don’t take no for an answer!

What do you do, what do you specialize in, what are you known for, etc. What are you most proud of as a company? What sets you apart from others?
I’m a singer, songwriter, and performer.
As a brand, I’m most proud of overall growth. I work really hard on improving myself daily. My sound and style of music definitely set me apart.

It would be great to hear about any apps, books, podcasts or other resources that you’ve used and would recommend to others.
I actually watch a lot of artist interviews and live performances. You can definitely learn a lot from watching the greats.
