Conversations with the Inspiring Nausheen Ahmed

Today we’d like to introduce you to Nausheen Ahmed.

So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I moved to Los Angeles in search of a job as a Vascular Sonographer but the universe told me that something else was planned, within a few weeks and months after my move to Los Angeles, I was scouted by an agent in Los Angeles for a role in a short film that left me intrigued about the film/theater industry and decided to take acting classes. I fell in love with the acting world and made a 180 turn to be a full-time actress in Los Angeles. I believe in being a lifelong learner and continue to exercise my imagination by attending an on-camera audition, film focused, dramatic, character development classes with my coach.

Has it been a smooth road?
The road is definitely not smooth, Whether you’re a working professional actor or an aspiring one, you are bound to face several difficulties that sometimes seem just too hard to push through. The “business” as they call it is all about dealing with rejection, and handling yourself when you come across a part that you didn’t want at all in the first place. It also involves learning about composure, yet maintaining confidence. My advice is to stay strong and don’t up give up. What I’m trying to say is that as a person in this business, you will come across some setbacks, and it’s okay, because you can and will get through them and move forward.

Please tell us more about your work, what you are currently focused on and most proud of.
I am a full-time actress and model. I am also a makeup artist and hairstylist and have my studio based in Los Angeles named Elicium. What sets me apart from others is that I provide posing workshops to new aspiring models and help them build their confidence by being comfortable in their own skin.

Who do you look up to? How have they inspired you?
I look up to Oprah Winfrey, Audrey Hepburn, Meryl Steep. But Audrey Hepburn is one that really captures my heart and inspires me as she is revered for both her acting skills and her philanthropic efforts as a UNICEF ambassador following her unofficial retirement from acting, making her one of the most notable female role models. With a life devoted to kindness and compassion, Audrey devoted herself to being a mother, a wife, and a humanitarian, something admirable and inspirational.
