Conversations with the Inspiring Martina Gomez

Today we’d like to introduce you to Martina Gomez.

Martina, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I started off naturally dancing growing up. I loved music and I loved to dance. My brother and I would create dance routines and show them to our family. So, I pursued dance. My brother and I also took a lot of pictures growing up. We would put together outfits and go find a spot outside to take pictures. Modeling has also made its way into my life.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I don’t think anything is ever or will ever be a smooth road. Depending on what you are pursuing, you’ll have to make choices accordingly. Financially smart decisions (I’m not always good at but am becoming). What you put into your body, especially if active. DON’T GET DISCOURAGED! Believe in yourself. Even if things seem to be moving slowly or if you get turned down from jobs. KEEP GOING and have faith! I pray for strength a lot, to keep my vision right in front of me.

What do you do, what do you specialize in, what are you known for, etc. What are you most proud of? What sets you apart from others?
After graduating in 2013, and a little before; I pursued dancing. I have performed in many shows and different stages. Within almost two years ago, I began pursuing modeling. So currently, I am known for both, but modeling has currently taken over. I am most proud of my growth and my urge to keep going. Any dreamer knows that mentally it can be really draining going after your dreams. Keeping the fire burning and the faith alive. What sets me apart is, there is no other me. No one has my vision/s nor my creativity or essence.

Looking back on your childhood, what experiences do you feel played an important role in shaping the person you grew up to be?
I’ve been through personal road blurs that I do feel has played a role in where I am today. I now know that I have so much more to look forward to in life. That the opportunities are endless if I put the work in for them.
