Conversations with the Inspiring Jenny Wu

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jenny Wu.

Jenny, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I started blogging while working as general counsel for a fashion company. Blogging about beauty and fashion was a great creative outlet and an escape from my life as a lawyer. My blog has opened the door to many fabulous opportunities including being the resident blogger for Saks Fifth Avenue, working with dream brands like Marc Jacobs Beauty and Shopbop, and even helped me get on The Amazing Race! Today, I’m a busy working mom to an adorable toddler but I still find time to blog. It’s truly my passion!

Has it been a smooth road?
It’s not tough to start a blog as there are practically zero barriers to entry. However, it is tough, especially in today’s environment, to get your blog noticed when there are thousands of others just like you. My advice to anyone who wants to become a fashion blogger is to cultivate a unique voice and distinct sense of style. Don’t mimic what others are doing. Stay true to who you are and people will notice!

So let’s switch gears a bit and go into Good, Bad, and Fab story. Tell us more about the business.
I’m a beauty and fashion blogger.

For good reason, society often focuses more on the problems rather than the opportunities that exist, because the problems need to be solved. However, we’d probably also benefit from looking for and recognizing the opportunities that women are better positioned to capitalize on. Have you discovered such opportunities?
I think we can do anything our male counterparts can do so why pigeon-hole ourselves to certain roles or positions? The future (and present) is females.
