Today we’d like to introduce you to Chris Han.
Chris is an entrepreneur turned fashion blogger. She was born in Shanghai China, the most fashion-forward city in her home country. She was very inspired by her mother a fashion designer. When she was little, she stayed at her mother’s studio for hours and she read and collected Vogue and other fashion magazines. Gradually she formed her own way to express herself by what she wore. She styled her friends and even did makeup and hair for them when she was in college – sharing her style with others was so fun. After she sold her first business in Shanghai, she moved to LA with her husband where she earned the MBA degree at the University of Southern California. In LA, she was exposed to the latest fashion from all over the world and inspired by diverse fashion and culture. As a professional photographer, Chris’s husband Robert Yu took photos for her and encouraged her to share her style with a broader audience than her friends. That’s how Chris started to post her journey to becoming a social media influencer on Instagram @chrishanxoxo and her blog (www.chrishanxoxo.com).
Has it been a smooth road?
My biggest challenge as an influencer is making sure that my content is in line with my partners and my audience. I wanted to make sure that I always keep the audience in mind and I could bring value to the brand partners that I work with at the same time. So, over time, I know how to be selective and stay focused.
Also, as my social media channels grow, it is challenging to balance my personal life and the social media life. Like other social media influencers, I am the producer, marketer, model, makeup artist and stylist for my blog. Blogging is my full-time job – it’s my lifestyle. While I can work from anywhere and on my own schedule, it is really important to spend time with family and friends.
So let’s switch gears a bit and go into Chris Han Style story. Tell us more about the business.
I am a fashion and beauty blogger, Instagrammer and content creator. My personal style is feminine, sophisticated and optimistic. I collaborate with fashion and beauty brands that are expanding their social media presence and introduce the latest trend in fashion and beauty to my audience. I have a diverse follower base from the US and abroad.
Who do you look up to? How have they inspired you?
My mother has been my role model for both career and personal life. She is my muse. As a fashion designer and businesswoman, she encouraged me to follow my passion and be brave. Her style is classic yet bold. She loves purple eye-shadow, Coco Chanel, miniskirts, shoulder pads and anything in bright colors. Influenced by her, I developed my own fashion sensibility.
