Today we’d like to introduce you to Carla Luxx.
So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
Plushy Couture was started because I wanted women to feel amazing and confident in their clothes at any age, size or shape. I also wanted to integrate images on my website that represent body acceptance. This is accomplished by not photoshopping our images, we show a real women’s body with stretch marks, rolls, and cellulite because all women have perfectly imperfect bodies & I want women to know this is normal, beautiful and nothing to be ashamed of.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
I absolutely experienced challenges, some of those struggles were that I placed myself into a new industry and had a learning curve. My background is in Dental Hygiene and in Psychology, so fashion was a whole new adventure for me. Being an entrepreneur has many ups and downs along the way thats part of being your own boss so embrace the process as you go, everything is a learning experience.
So let’s switch gears a bit and go into Plushy Couture, LLC story. Tell us more about the business.
Currently, Plushy Couture is working with local manufacturers in Los Angeles to create and design stylish, curvy activewear that will be available in sizes medium to 4X. We are very excited about what’s to come with Plushy Couture and garments that are made locally in the USA. Do you have a lesson or advice you’d like to share with young women just starting out?
I think it’s important to be authentically who you are and let your true self shine through in all that you do, this allows people to authentically connect with you and enables a real connection with your followers or people you meet in person.
