Conversations with Alexander Otero

Today we’d like to introduce you to Alexander Otero.

Hi Alexander, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Hi My Name is Alexander Otero everyone know me has D.Other, I started with music since I was ten years old, I wrote my first song at that age and recorded at 11 years old, In Puerto Rico. I always wanted to make music I always had in mind to live from this. I love music too much. Every time I write a song, I do it with passion, it is not to do it but because I love doing it and I think the public feels when a song is made from the heart and when not. I’ve been living in California for four years and I started recording two years ago with Enovate & Zayce but I never released anything until this year 2020. I started to release real music and take the music industry more seriously and since I released my first project that It’s D.Other – Side and my first video, I’ve already lost you, many blessings have come after that. Grateful with God and with the people who support what I and the ELEVEN team do.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
No, it hasn’t been easy, and I had to put up with the urge to record to work and feed my family at the beginning when I started, everything was difficult my family was large and the only person who worked for that time was me. I tried to take off and not make more music but I worked anywhere and I always had to write something or record a melody with my cell phone, I always had to look for sound to anything. Despite the obstacles and problems that I had, I did not stop and continued until I waited for the precise moment for them to believe in what I had and to see the vision that I saw.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
Always when I write a song or invent a melody I try to make it please all kinds of old, young & old ears. I always try to make different music and not that only people see me as a reggaeton but as a complete artist that they can listen to anywhere and in any environment. My specialty is writing and I love melodies when I write and I get a new melody is the best. I’m proud of myself because I never took off and moved on with this music thing and I am not going to take off. I think that what separates me from other people without offending anyone is the love I feel for this, every time I sing I do it with my heart every time I play my songs on stage or club I do it without fear of failing without fear of to fall or without fear of what they say because this is my dream and nobody is going to take it from me.

Do you any memories from childhood that you can share with us?
When I was about 11 years old, I played a musical group from my country at my school, it was a Talent Show of dancing and singing and I WIN, that was one of the best memories I have.
