Community Highlights: Meet Victoria Mojica Monroe of Monroe Talent Management

Today we’d like to introduce you to Victoria Mojica Monroe.

Hi Victoria Mojica, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I grew up in the San Gabriel Valley, Hacienda Heights. I was a competitive gymnast with SCATS and later became a dancer at Disneyland. While at Disney, I danced in a variety of shows and special events. I loved working for The Mouse and still have long-lasting friendships.

Like most managers, my story began with my daughter, who grew up doing commercial, print and television. It was during this time that I felt drawn to talent management. I understood that many parents with children in the industry needed guidance and direction on developing their talents and being placed with the right agencies. I had the insight for finding talented, passionate artists and would often make suggestions for classes, headshot photographers and agencies for friends and family to submit to. An agent colleague suggested I start my own company and in 2012, I decided to take the leap of faith.

I started Monroe Talent Management Inc. the summer of 2012. I love finding fresh new talent, whether it be developmental youth or established adult actors. I strive to develop relationships with my talent through trust, integrity and disciplined work ethic. I believe that is the recipe for success!

I joined the Talent Managers Association in 2017. I sat on the Events Committee and helped with the organization of mixers with industry professionals. Later I served on the Board of Directors as Recording Secretary, Vice President, and now as the newly elected President for 2021-2023 term.

Talent management brings me so much joy! I love working as a team and watching my clients’ careers take off. I am their manager and friend. You can see my clients on national commercials, network television shows, feature films, and Equity theatre productions. When I’m not busy managing my clients, I love to travel with my family, wine taste, practice yoga, ride horses, and relax with Reiki.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Starting your own business is never easy. It takes blood, sweat and tears but the rewards are amazing! The Covid pandemic did put a wrinkle on 2020 but we are coming back. I wake up each day with gratitude that I was able to maintain my business during the shutdown. My focus during that trying time was my roster. I made sure they had the support that they needed to power through.

Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
