Today we’d like to introduce you to Tiffany Spadola.
Hi Tiffany, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I became a first-time mom during the pandemic and made the big decision to step away from my career to stay home with my daughter. While that time was incredibly meaningful, I also found myself missing the connection and fulfillment I got from supporting other moms. After my daughter’s first birthday in 2021, I felt ready to take the leap and launch my own business as a parent coach.
Not long after, I was also hired by Maven Clinic as a parent coach, which turned out to be the perfect role for that season of life. It gave me the flexibility to work around my daughter’s ‘Mom’s Morning Out’ program and my husband’s work schedule.
Since then, my own business—Southbay Parent Coaching—has continued to grow. Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of supporting more and more families in the South Bay and greater Los Angeles area, especially around parenting strategies and potty training support.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
When I first started my business in 2021, my biggest challenge was simply finding the time. As a stay-at-home mom to a one-year-old, I was juggling a lot. I’d often do research with my daughter co-sleeping beside me and squeezed in most of my work late at night or on weekends.
Now, I’m at an exciting crossroads: expanding Southbay Parent Coaching to include in-person parenting and potty training classes right here in the South Bay. I know this is the next step for my business, but I’m also aware of the added workload it will bring. It kind of feels like standing at the start line of a 5K, just waiting for the gun to go off. But it’s coming soon—especially as more and more local schools and businesses have been reaching out. So stay tuned!”
We’ve been impressed with Southbay Parent Coaching, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
My name is Tiffany Spadola, and I’m a parent coach, certified potty training consultant, and the founder of Southbay Parent Coaching. I provide virtual parent coaching and potty training support to families both locally and globally. My specialty is working with parents of neurodivergent, highly sensitive, and strong-willed children—helping them feel empowered and supported through every stage.
Before launching my business, I spent seven years working in schools across Los Angeles County and Long Beach as a Clinical Supervisor and Behavior Therapist. I’ve helped develop IEP goals, collaborated closely with educators, and supported families directly in their homes—teaching parents how to reduce challenging behaviors and build social skills and communication through targeted behavioral strategies.
Honestly, I’ve been in the trenches and have truly seen it all—so I bring a big toolbox of tips and tricks to every session!
I take a holistic approach to behavior support, always considering factors like diet, sleep, and overall wellness. One thing I always tell parents is: “I can teach you all the tools in the world, but if your child is hungry, sick, or overtired, those tools won’t work. Our job is to be proactive and meet those basic needs first.”
Where we are in life is often partly because of others. Who/what else deserves credit for how your story turned out?
I’ve been incredibly lucky to have the support of some amazing South Bay businesses early on in my journey. Ashley from Fit4Moms South Bay, Christine from The Mom Walk Redondo Beach, Crystal from Dig It, and Emily from Mommy Assist have all shown up for me in meaningful ways—whether by promoting my business, sharing my work on social media, or generously offering free services for giveaways. I’m a big believer that strong women lift each other up, and these women have truly embodied that.
There are so many others who have supported me as well—especially the incredible moms I’ve connected with through social media.
I also have to give a huge shout-out to my family, especially my partner. He’s been my behind-the-scenes support system—my photographer, proofreader, and tech support. Most importantly, he’s my hype man and appreciate his support in building my confidence as an entrepreneur.
