Community Highlights: Meet Sasha Indrikov of Hair salon.

Today we’d like to introduce you to Sasha Indrikov

Hi Sasha, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I still remember the day I got my first haircut at 16. It was like a lightbulb moment – I knew right then and there that I wanted to spend my life making people look and feel their best. And so, my journey as a hairdresser began.

Fast forward to 5.5 years ago, when I made the bold decision to leave my comfort zone and move to Los Angeles. I knew no one, and my English was terrible. The initial days were tough – loneliness and uncertainty were my constant companions. But I refused to let that hold me back.

Step by step, I began to build my life in LA. I enrolled in English classes, starting life from scratch is difficult in Moscow, where I come from, there was a large client base, and now step by step we need to build it again

but I knew that if you work hard, everything will work out because I love my job, so, having survived the lockdown and Covid, I continued to pursue my goals and 5 years later, on June 1, in West Hollywood, my colleague and I opened a studio. I still can’t believe it and I’m very happy

As I look back on my journey, I’m reminded of the power of never giving up. There were times when it seemed like the odds were stacked against me, but I refused to let that stop me. And that’s my message to anyone reading this – follow your dreams, no matter how impossible they may seem. Believe in yourself, and never lose sight of your goals.

Today, I’m living my dream, and I’m grateful for every step of the journey that brought me here. I’m proud to be a hairdresser, and I’m proud to be an inspiration to others. As I always say, “Never give up, follow your dreams, and everything will work out.”

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
I think it’s hard for any immigrant, but I’m glad that I had a friend here, it was psychologically easier to realize that I’m not alone here

I also didn’t know English at all, at school I learned German and I couldn’t communicate at all, but after 2.5 weeks I already went to school and learned the language and gradually got to know people at school, my first friends appeared, these were guys from Brazil they are still on good terms and we meet sometimes

We’ve been impressed with Hair salon., but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I just opened a studio with a colleague, we absolutely love our work, I’m also from Russia and our school is a little different and my client likes it, it’s like the effect with a Russian manicure, the idea is the same but the result is a little different.

My business is as small as the first entrance of a plant and every day I learn something new, I read a lot, because it’s all new

I also want to say again, believe in yourself, follow your dreams, you just have to take a step and you will see the way

So maybe we end on discussing what matters most to you and why?
It is important for me to see the happy faces of my clients, some of them become friends, because our life is very difficult, a lot. problems and such a small thing as cutting or coloring your hair can charge you with positive energy for months, I think this is the main thing

Pricing:
