Today we’d like to introduce you to Sarah Nicole Fisk
Hi Sarah Nicole, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
In 2009, I started a swimwear company, building my brand by hosting events and popping up at markets & festivals. I loved creating experiences that brought people together, and in 2020, I took a leap and opened a store on Venice Blvd—only to have it shut down two weeks later due to the pandemic.
Around the same time, The Gym Venice, another small business on Venice Blvd, was also forced to close its doors. That’s when fate stepped in—a fellow business owner reached out with an idea: to host a block party to bring the community back together, reintroduce the small businesses that make the Westside so special, and remind people of the power of supporting local.
What started as a simple neighborhood gathering quickly turned into something much bigger. That first block party had such an incredible energy—people were dancing in the streets, discovering new brands, and reconnecting after months of isolation. We knew we had created something special.
From that one event, The Venice Fest was born. Over the years, it has grown into one of the largest street festivals on the Westside, bringing together local businesses, artists, musicians, and the entire community for a day of celebration, connection, and joy. We’ve now hosted 10 incredible events, and in 2025, we’re expanding even further with:
Venice Love Fest – March 22, 2025
Venice Summer Fest – June 21, 2025
Venice Winter Fest – November 22, 2025
But the most beautiful thing to come out of The Venice Fest? Our daughter. 💕 If we hadn’t worked together to create this festival, we never would have met, fallen in love, and started a family. The Venice Fest gave us not only a purpose but also the greatest gift of all.
This festival isn’t just about events—it’s about community, connection, and the magic that happens when people come together. It started as a way to bring life back to small businesses, and in the process, it changed our lives forever.
We can’t wait to keep growing, evolving, and celebrating with all of you.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Hosting The Venice Fest has come with its fair share of challenges. From navigating permits to figuring out how to fund the event while keeping it as beautiful and impactful as possible—all on a budget, since it’s a free community event.
With each event, we learn something new, continuously working to make it better, more organized, and more seamless for everyone involved. Balancing all of this while being a full-time mom has made the journey even more demanding, but also incredibly rewarding.
Despite the challenges, our passion for creating a space where the community can come together, support local businesses, and celebrate keeps us going. Every event is a chance to improve, grow, and bring something even more special to the Westside.
Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Venice Blvd Productions is the company behind The Venice Fest—born out of our passion for community, connection, and meaningful experiences. We created this production company with a mission to focus on community-driven events, nonprofit initiatives, and partnerships that give back in a real way.
As small business owners ourselves, we understand the dedication, time, and effort it takes to build something from the ground up. It’s not easy—especially in today’s world. That’s why we wanted to create a company that supports local and small businesses, helping them grow and thrive through impactful events and collaborations.
For us, this isn’t just about event production—it’s about uplifting the community, creating opportunities, and making a difference—one event at a time.
Have you learned any interesting or important lessons due to the Covid-19 Crisis?
We’ve learned that when you raise enough awareness about the importance of supporting small businesses, the community shows up—ready to invest, engage, and uplift the people behind them.
The impact of COVID-19 showed us just how fragile small businesses can be and how vital community support is for their survival. Many businesses struggled to stay afloat, and it became clear that shopping local isn’t just a trend—it’s a necessity for keeping neighborhoods thriving.
People want to support local artisans, entrepreneurs, and family-run businesses—they just need the space, the conversation, and the opportunity to do so. When the community feels connected to the businesses they’re supporting, it becomes more than just a transaction—it becomes a movement of resilience, local love, and shared growth.
