Community Highlights: Meet Sally Betters of The Transformed Life

Today we’d like to introduce you to Sally Betters.

Hi Sally, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstories.
I began writing about 5 years ago because I had a story to tell.

For several years, I had worked as a Professional Tutor for children who struggle with learning challenges. At the same time, I volunteered as a Board Member and then was hired as a Post-Abortion Counselor to serve at a local Pregnancy Center. I started seeing a pattern of sexual abuse among high-risk women with unplanned pregnancies and unwanted abortions.

In 2018, I wrote a book on childhood trauma and its impact on adult decision-making. Since then, I have been asked to speak about the issues in my book. I’ve also been certified as a life coach and coach women who are stuck in unproductive self-copying methods.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Growth is never without its challenges. It has been a steep learning curve in this 6th decade of life to learn about the complexities of the publishing world.

Additionally, taking on the ominous task of chief coordinator for proposal submission, writing, editing, proofing, hiring an editor, illustrator, graphic artist, pre-publishing person, launch manager, social media director, and business coach has been all-consuming.

Taking time to celebrate my wins along the way has been a worthwhile practice to look at my progress and share my gratitude with those involved.

As you know, we’re big fans of The Transformed Life. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
I founded The Transformed Life company to provide a comprehensive solution to the problem of childhood trauma in women. The impact of this devastation on self-worth, identity, and purpose has been a consistent theme In my work as a life coach who specializes in grief and transformation.

I have been privileged to shepherd a group of women through the Wounded Heart book and workbook by Dr. Dan Allender, who is an expert on the impact of sexual abuse on children and adults. As a community service, I provide free warning documents on my website for women to improve their awareness of abusive relationships and the warning signs of sexual abuse in children.

My company offers a three-tier approach to addressing the problem of early childhood sexual trauma:

1) I educate through my books at both ends of the spectrum. I provide adult and character-building children’s books to bring awareness of the protection of children.

2) I provide faith-based individual and group life coaching to those who want to grow from their struggles and change their negative coping methods.

3) I facilitate a group of women who have read my books, taken my life coaching sessions, and benefited from my classes to be part of a great community of creative, healed, free and motivated women who are fully living their lives.

Maybe, the most creative and caring part of my business is that I donate the proceeds from my books, speaking, and life coaching to a powerful international organization that is fighting child sex trafficking in five countries, including the United States of America.

Are there any books, apps, podcasts, or blogs that help you do your best?

Google Calendar keeps me organized; Bible App is a wonderful multi-translation reference, Business God’s Way is a practical tool for setting business priorities and follow-through; Circle is an efficient business group app without all the distractions; Canva is irreplaceable for creating presentations, and graphic images for social media.
